Kind of a late start to our Twibbing this week, but better late than never.

- Phils, who are finishing up with the Reds tonight (they've won the first three) before getting the Pirates.

Aaaaaand they'll be getting Bryce Harper back starting Friday, most likely still as a full-time DH as the hand is healed but not yet the elbow)

On the flip side, Zack Wheeler is going to the IL which kind of suxx not just for him but for us as well as we're done with them but the Braves

are not. Phils & Braves have seven left vs each other starting with next week so Wheels will be unavailable for that one.

- Braves are off tonight but will be in St Loo for the weekend so they might even lose a game. After that, THEY get the Rox so we need as

many ATL L's on the board as we can get.

- Pitt rookie Oneil Cruz, y'know their 6' 7" SS, smacked a ball 122+ mph the other day which is apparently a record in this stat-cast era.

He's having himself a rough first half-season, but there's a whole lotta athleticism going on there.

Tip of the hat and a tap of the cup to rookie Yankee reliever Greg Weissert, getting called on to make his major league debut mopping a a 13-2 lead for his team, plunked a batter with his first pitch, balked, and hit the next batter with his second pitch.

Better results next time, Mr. Weissert.

Not all rookies had a bad night.

The Orioles were down with two out in the ninth last night, as rookie Kyle Stowers hit a can o' corn popup in foul territory.

But it ain't over 'til it's over.

Two hands, Adam Engel.

The Braves just never* seem to lose. They are going to make this a great pennant race, that I expect to go down to the final days of the season.

*night quite never, but very seldom

Charlie Morton against Jordan Montgomery tonight.

Pujols, Goldschmidt, and Molina have combined for no homers in 85 career at-bats against Morton. Why? I dunno.

HBP

Bases loaded, one out

Corey Dickerson up, just needing a single (Goldschmidt on 2nd)

oe: And an infield single ties the game !!!!

Bags still loaded.

And the Cards get a walk-off walk!!

oe: not as good as beating the '70s Pirates teams when you could get a walk-off walk off (Bob) Walk, but still pretty cool.

Phillies aren't doing a very good job going away, and are suddenly the hottest team in the league again.

Brewers are doing everything they can do cough up their playoff spot, and the Giants, are all, "No thanks, we've got our own problems."

What was that year that the Brewers were playoff bound, but playing so badly down the stretch that they changed managers with a week or two to go?

This is like that.

In the hypothetical Division series matchup, Mets would now play the winner of St. Louis - San Diego.

Phils shutout be cross-state Pitt 5-Zip today.

Braves/Cards on SNB was rain delayed so the results will be late. Currently scoreless mid 4th in StL

And, after taking g the first with like visions of a sweep in their eyes, the Yans lose both Saturday (one hit thru 11 innings!!) and Sunday in Oakland and have to settle for two-two split.
