Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 19, 2022 Posted July 19, 2022 Unlike the big TV batting practice spectacular, I do expect to actually watch a portion of this event.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 19, 2022 Author Posted July 19, 2022 ASG roster news: Starling Marte has opted out and given up his roster slot to Freddie Freeman. I am guessing he wishes to rest his groin or other groiny parts.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted July 19, 2022 Posted July 19, 2022 Jeff McNeil will bat ninth for the NL.
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted July 19, 2022 Posted July 19, 2022 Interesting on Marte. He was all over the Derby celebration last night.
Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted July 19, 2022 Posted July 19, 2022 I'll watch through the recording of Mets On Tap and then probably drift away. To me the ASG is about the pageantry and celebration. I think they should adopt cinderella rules, everyone bats ones, you can just rotate 3-4 at a time this way you can cycle in a few pitchers to throw a bit, and then once it's done, it's done.
roger_that Old-Timey Member Posted July 19, 2022 Posted July 19, 2022 I think they should have the two leagues play football against each other.
Marshmallowmilkshake Old-Timey Member Posted July 19, 2022 Posted July 19, 2022 Well, that anthem was better than last night's version.
Marshmallowmilkshake Old-Timey Member Posted July 19, 2022 Posted July 19, 2022 Damn good play by Andres Gimenez!
Marshmallowmilkshake Old-Timey Member Posted July 19, 2022 Posted July 19, 2022 Goldie extends the NL lead with a blast!!
Marshmallowmilkshake Old-Timey Member Posted July 19, 2022 Posted July 19, 2022 The Mets even get hit by the pitch in the All-Star Game! Squirrel on first base.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 19, 2022 Posted July 19, 2022 I like how both secondbasemen are 2020 Mets.

kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted July 19, 2022 Posted July 19, 2022 It's pretty much unwatchable. Then the players start talking on thefield to the booth and each other and it makes it doubly so.I have never been less gay for baseball than at the present time.
Marshmallowmilkshake Old-Timey Member Posted July 19, 2022 Posted July 19, 2022 Darn it. Tie games on a Stanton homer.
Marshmallowmilkshake Old-Timey Member Posted July 19, 2022 Posted July 19, 2022 Freaking Dodgers pitchers.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted July 19, 2022 Posted July 19, 2022 I have no opinion of Sterling K. Brown but I'm sick of Sterling K. Brown.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 19, 2022 Posted July 19, 2022 That Alejandro Kirk guy is listed in BB-REF at 5' 8" / 245... Holy Shit what a load!!Don't wanna run into him at the plate.
Marshmallowmilkshake Old-Timey Member Posted July 19, 2022 Posted July 19, 2022 Big Papi in the dugout is not working.

Holy Shit what a load!!Don't wanna run into him at the plate.Discovered by accident in Tijuana when Blue Jays superscout Dean Decillis was there to scout a completely different catcher whose name is lost to history. He wasn't impressed at all, and noticed that Kirk was better in every aspect, but he had to call ahead to the Jays and tell them that they were going to think he's crazy when Kirk showed up at camp. But Decillis had been right about Marcus Stroman so the organization trusted him and signed the load, who proceeded to zip through the minors in 165 games — barely more than single big league season.https://www.sportsnet.ca/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/Big-Read-Alejandro-Kirk-Throw.jpg>Sometimes when you cross a Mexican with a Scot, something wonderful happens.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 19, 2022 Posted July 19, 2022 Thinking that maybe Juan Soto doesn't make it home from the break.

Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted July 19, 2022 Posted July 19, 2022 Wayne Kirby apparently had surgery today to remove some cancer.
