Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted July 9, 2022 Posted July 9, 2022 Now that I've calmed down, Escobar needs to sit. He is a freaking albatross in the lineup.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted July 9, 2022 Posted July 9, 2022 Let's all say it together: very bad fundies from the Marlins.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 9, 2022 Posted July 9, 2022 (edited) Just caught up after watching via delay. And, in honor of Keith day, a couple of calls at the end of the game. behind the bag ... IT GETS BY ANDERSON!!!! ... HERE COMES NIDO AND THE METS WIN!!! Edited July 9, 2022 by Guest
roger_that Old-Timey Member Posted July 9, 2022 Posted July 9, 2022 Good one, Vinny.I missed the final inning--I recorded only the show after the scheduled run time for the game, I need to record two shows at least after the game. I assume it was a good game?

Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted July 9, 2022 Posted July 9, 2022 I mean fir the Mets it was a bad one.The had what 5 hits in 10 Innings. They had a lead the bullpen surrendered twice. Two guys got hurt. They bunted a guy to 3rd and he stayed there. We made a daring but costly mistake in the 10th, and it should have been much worse. But with ATL and PHL with wins in the banks, and down to our last out twice, we pulled the dumb thing out on 3 even worse mistakes by the other guys... 4 if you count the pitcher making 2 goofs on the last play.We played a team that's demonstrated over and over they have adequate or better pitching most nights, a few tough outs who are also clutch, but simply cannot execute, and almost lost again
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted July 9, 2022 Posted July 9, 2022 Just based on the games they've played, against the Mets only--and all the little fuckups and blown-up umpire challenges--and knowing there was strife behind the scenes. And absolutely wasting a brilliant season from Alcantra, and promising guys elsewhere, how does Mattingly keep his job?
roger_that Old-Timey Member Posted July 9, 2022 Posted July 9, 2022 They seem to like Donnie Baseball just fine in Miami. The announcing team today compared him continually to Keith. Continually and favorably.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 9, 2022 Posted July 9, 2022 Yeah, I got nothing against Donnie B. He hasn't pissed in public in a few decades, but I watch this Marlin team year in and year out and I don't get how he keeps employed.I know I've been banging this drum a lot, but during this series, I haven't been able to get over how comically fundamentally flawed Aguilar is. How does he hold a spot on a developing team? How does any team let him play the field? How do they put him in the field (once this series and twice the last one) and DH Garrett Cooper, who has to better firstbaseman simply by virtue of having played Lou Gehrig in the movies?
