Braves pasting the Cards 6-0, still just in the 3rd

Phils are one if the [CROSSOUT]unpatriotic[/CROSSOUT] idle teams today.

Marlins won in 10 vs Nats in the traditional early 7/4 start in D.C.

(Rumored) Trade target Wilson Contreras out with a hamstring injury.

The final in Atlanta was 6-3. Total time was 5:38 including a 2:37 rain delay — clearly a tribute the the Mets/Braves July 4 marathon of yore.

Is your post from yesterday?

Here's the Twins' July 4 triple play.

Sadly, it's from tomorrow!

Here's the Twins' July 4 triple play.

And now you know, at least partially, how Les Guardians managed to get swept in two DHs in a three day span.

They went 1-4 just fron Saturday thru Monday.

I was at the Pirates-MFY game in Pittsburgh tonight. Tons of MFY fans there. Probably outnumbering Pirates fans. A rather obnoxious group, too.

So it was funny when Judge whiffed to end the game with the MFY fans chanting MVP. Bucs win 5-2. PNC is a really nice stadium, probably even better when the Yankees are not around.

Braves are clearly pressing after seeing the Mets eclipse the Marlins. We're going to extries with the Redbirds opening with the top of the order and catcher Austin Romine (Yadier is on the Injured List) auto-running on second.

Brendan Donovan lines a sharp opposite field single to left. First and third and no out for St. Louis.

Tyler Matzek the sixth pitcher for the Braves.

Sac fly to center for Juan Yepez. Cards up 2-1.

Posted

Goldie lines one out to center. Donovan was called safe getting back to first, but the Braves are challenging. Unlikely to be overturned, but who knows?

Posted

Deep fly for the third out.

Braves look for the equalizer in the bottom of the 10th. Ronald Acuña, Jr. will be your free runner, with Dansby Swanson, Matt Olsson, and Austin Reilly coming up.

And those don't just sound like Civil War officers. The first two were born in Georgia, and the third in Memphis.

A great stab at third for Edmondo Sosa gives the Cards the first out.

Posted

Matt Olson knocks one against the shift and Acuña comes around to score. We have a 2-2 game.

Oklahoman Ryan Helsley on the mound for St. Louis.

Reilly drives one to right and now it's first and third. Travis d'Arnaud at the plate with the winning run 90 feet away, but he's a good DP threat as well.

Ozuna fouls away a pop but hits St. Louis catcher Romine in the head with his follow-through.

Romine stays in the game! Ozuna grounds to short! Edman throws wide of the bag!! GOLDIE COMES OFF THE BAG AND GETS OZUNA OUT WITH A TAG!!

WE GO TO THE 11TH!!

Matzek back out for another inning for the Braves. Arrenado opens on second, and Gorman singles on the first pitch.

First and third and nobody out for Dylan Carlson.

Posted

A single off the glove of Gosselin! Albies woulda had it! Cards back up by one! First and second and one out!

Edman back a the plate!

Posted

Drive to right and Gorman crosses over to third after the out. Insurance in position to be cashed in with one out.

Posted

Edmundo Sosa whiffs! Chokes!! Spits the bit!!

Austine Romine up! Four strikeouts and conk to the head!! Can he do it?!?!

Posted

Groundout to short.

Braves in the bottom of the 11th will have Marcel Ozuna on second with the bottom of the order coming up.
