De La Cruz walks.

Bezes loaded.

Tying run on third.

Go-ahead on second.

Tight spot for Lugo.

I BELIEVE in Lugo, but this is where convention works against managers. Buck should be going to his top reliever here, if he's available.

Gittin' it done to the opposite field. Keep doin' that.

Yeah, this is like DUH. Alcantara keeps pitching you outside and there's no fielders on that side of the field. Why would a lefty even try to pull the ball?

He looked tired but then he got to face 8-9 in the order and Buck kept JD and Canha on the bench.

It's the 8th inning and SNY is treating the game like it's Spring Training. Pathetic.

---------

Gary: "the replay coordinator missed it."

OR, perhaps the umpire could have done his job and gotten the call right as he is paid to do.

Cahna for Guillorme. Interesting.
Especially with Nido up after JD. Down 4 you have to look ahead and you don't want Nido up as the tying run with 2 outs.

Not Buck's best day.

Escobar's AB was awful. Like I said yesterday, the pitcher couldn't throw a strike to save his life, and he's swinging at shit out of the strike zone. Big lead, throw strikes, for fuck's sake.

That's certainly the way I was thinking.

I was also under the impression that Buck figured the lefty would be out of the game if and when Nido came up, so he would have Mazeika against a righthander.

But you need baserunners before you get the tying run up there. Letting Guillorme try to get on against an ineffectively wild lefty, and following that with Cahna and hopefully Tying-Run Davis seemed like the way to go, and a smarter play than trying to use those two guys to load the bases for Nido or Zeke as the tying run.

Why were they swinging at the wild crap he was tossing? You're down four runs. You need baserunners, and this guy's handing them to you on a platter. Take them, fuck rice ache. Don't deserve to win this one.
