On game two, Trevor Williams, 0-2, 4.20, faces TBD.

So I was driving today and had time to listen to the rest of John Denver's Greatest Hits. You are spot on that the orchestration piled on the mix didn't help the songs.

For the 2d game in a row, the Mets' baserunning is overproduced. In G1, Lindor tried for an extra-base with a runner on 3d and Pete on deck. G2 begins with Nimmo, who had the LFers good play in front of him, running himself into an out.

Blach seems to go to his hat and his crotch on every pitch. I'm not saying, but I'm saying.

Mets getting baserunners the first two innings, but runs have yet to be.

Nido knocks in Escobar as Davis goes first to third.

That's three slumping hitters hitting their way on base there.

Metsies get those runs right back.

As for overproduced music of the early 1970s, it's all Phil Spector's fault. I still long for the day that a de-mushed full release of "All Things Must Pass" makes its way to the masses.

Whatever magic Lugo figured out to make his breaking stuff work in Colorado, it doesn't look like Williams absorbed it.

Adonis Medina is about six inches short of Miguel Castro and pretty close to being just as many MPH short in his fastball, but he has similar stuff and better control.

I look for him to stick.

Goudeau is a quicker worker than I would have expected.

He seems to me to be the kind of guy who'd make the batter wait.

"It was going to be a routine play for Rogers." — Gary Cohen

Gary, there haven't been a lot of routine plays for Rogers.

Either way, back within a run.

...or we could just end the inning by getting caught stealing against a pitcher who had yet to throw a ball in the strike zone. cool.

I'd've been tempted to pinch-hit too, but it's the sixth-inning of a one-run ball-game. But it's the sixth, and that's a pretty early spot to put your last catcher into the game, and commit to a lefty in that spot going forward, in furtherance of an attempt to plate a guy from first with two out.

But obviously, it's academic now.

we're all playing AL baseball now though, there may be no better chance to use Smith for Nido - particularly as they had just announced the righty pitcher and couldnt pull him
