Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 3, 2022 Posted September 3, 2022 The entire AL East won last night ... with the exception of the YanxTampa now trails by only 5 games, Toronto by 7, Baltimore by 8.5 ... and then there's Boston at -14.5So let's consider this for a second, the Yanx lead over the last place AL East team is now smaller than it was over the 2nd place team in early July.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 4, 2022 Posted September 4, 2022 Lists like that always look better when they're selectively culled of results that don't help to serve the predetermined desired outcome.

whippoorwill Old-Timey Member Posted September 4, 2022 Posted September 4, 2022 Not like i actually even pay attention to the Yankees, but he's on my fantasy team (as is Polar Bear) and this is the first year EVER that I've been in the money. I might send him a dollar.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted September 22, 2022 Posted September 22, 2022 Look at this bullshit. It doesn't affect us, why would go through the trouble of putting on Apple+ to see this game, but MFY fans are so whiny that they have to have their mediocre PBP guy forced into the booth of another announcing team so they can hear his scripted call. WHAAAAA! We're losing GKR for 2 of the 3 games of the ATL series and we'll complain but that's the way things go.https://awfulannouncing.com/mlb/michael-kay-reportedly-could-join-apple-tvs-yankees-red-sox-coverage-on-friday.htmlhttps://awfulannouncing.com/mlb/michael-kay-reportedly-could-join-apple-tvs-yankees-red-sox-coverage-on-friday.html
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2022 Posted September 23, 2022 Kay isn't going to big-foot onto the Apple+ show so good for him. Still, MFY fans are upset that the game is exclusively on Apple+ so the NY AG issued a statement telling them that there's a free way to subscribe. I would have told them to STFU.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2022 Posted September 23, 2022 That AppleTV+ is available free for baseball games (for this year at least) shouldn't be news to fans, except maybe to those just jumping on now to see Judge tie/break/get-slightly-closer-to (depending on your P.O.V.) a record.
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2022 Posted September 23, 2022 I hope Judge hits three homers tonight so Michael Kay can't put hisparasitic brand on the historical moment. That would amuse me!

Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted September 23, 2022 Posted September 23, 2022 AL records aren't a thing anymore. Judge hit 4 of his home runs in NL parks and 10 against NL teams. He's had literally as many times pitched to as Barry Bonds in 2001. It's just a franchise record, interesting to no one besides the Yankees.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2022 Posted September 23, 2022 “73 is the record in my book. No matter what people want to say about that era of baseball, for me, they went out there and hit 73 homers and 70 homers, and that to me is what the record is.”-A. Judge
