G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted November 29, 2021 Posted November 29, 2021 Desperation starter from pitching-thin summer signs with Pirates. Kept getting DFA'd, kept coming back. If not good, then some sort of perseverant.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted November 29, 2021 Posted November 29, 2021 I remember Gary Cohen challenging Keith to correctly spell Eickhoff's name on the air.I think Keith got the last name right, but blew the reversed vowels in the first name.
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted November 29, 2021 Posted November 29, 2021 I honestly thought he'd help us last year at one point. Guess not.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted November 29, 2021 Posted November 29, 2021 The problem with Eickhoff, aside from the fact that he suxx, is that he was, like, Plan E who got pressed into service far too early when Carrasco, Yamamoto, & Lucchesi all flamed out simultaneously (well, Carrasco wasn't able to answer the bell to start the season). He was designed to be your 'Break Glass in case of Back-to-back DHs' guy but wound as '(temporarily) Introducing Your New 4th Starter' guy
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted November 29, 2021 Posted November 29, 2021 I seem to recall an early start where he averted total disaster only due to tremendous fortune/poor execution by the bad guys, and managed to get through with an only sligthly ugly line. But that's not the kind of guy you gotta be relying on
