The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2021 Posted August 7, 2021 Wow. This team is tough to watch.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2021 Posted August 7, 2021 Another day, another clutch 9th inning HR by the Mets
The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2021 Posted August 7, 2021 The only suspense left in this game is whether can get a third hit or not. Staring their 9th shut out square in the face.Woo Hoo! A meaningless home run to (somewhat) save face.

The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2021 Posted August 7, 2021 Now Villar follows with a home run. 5-2 ball game with no outs in the 9th. Too little too late. If another hitter reaches base for the Mets, the Phillies will simply counter with a true MLB pitcher to close it out. McCann goes yoard for back-bacl-back HRs to open the 9th. Game over, though as the Phillies bring in Kennedy. The Mets will likely not get another hit.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2021 Posted August 7, 2021 NYM bats seemed to be Lloving that Philly pitcher.

seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2021 Posted August 7, 2021 This is the guy you want up in this spot. Here we go.
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2021 Posted August 7, 2021 Jeez. Six high strikes, six swings and misses.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2021 Author Posted August 7, 2021 Fastballs in the strike zone were too much for Pete and JD. Too bad that Dave Jauss wasn't the pitcher.
The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2021 Posted August 7, 2021 Kennedy knew what he was doing. Once the walks put a RISP, the Mets were dead in the water. 6 fastballs, six swing and misses from the Mets hitters. Same old Mets. Now they have to try to salvage at one win in the series against Wheeler tomorrow.
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2021 Posted August 7, 2021 And when the Braves beat the Nats tonight, we'll be in third. This fuckin' team, man.
