Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted June 2, 2021 Posted June 2, 2021 Back in the real world, Lugo showing off that sharp-breaking curve.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted June 2, 2021 Posted June 2, 2021 "That trophy means a lot because it was voted on by YouTubers'. Well, alrighty then.
LWFS Old-Timey Member Posted June 2, 2021 Posted June 2, 2021 cal sharpie wrote:You Tube baseball = unwatchable. If MLB wanted to create an alternate broadcast for kids or gamblers that would be fine. The NFL did that in the playoffs with a separate broadcast on Nickelodeon and it was great. This is an exclusive telecast and it's not for anyone: Mets fans, both AZ fans, gamblers, kids, baseball lovers, no one will love this and no casual viewer will seek it out despite it being "free". It's just a money-grab by MLB (which also angers cable and mlb.tv subscribers as you're paying to watch your team and not getting anything in return today).I feel like I MIGHT be enjoying Franco's commentary a little more if he just eschewed baseball insight and just went full Al Michaels with gambling discussion.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted June 2, 2021 Posted June 2, 2021 About 130,000 people are watching.That doesn't seem like a lot.
dinosaur jesus Old-Timey Member Posted June 2, 2021 Posted June 2, 2021 Fun fact: Blankenhorn is German for "blank horn."
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 2, 2021 Posted June 2, 2021 How come we have a better angle today on last night's walkoff hit than we had at the time?

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 2, 2021 Posted June 2, 2021 Is it me? Am I going to have be the one to ask that guys dial back the 24-7 spooging over Pillar?
LWFS Old-Timey Member Posted June 2, 2021 Posted June 2, 2021 So now Villar's hurt. (Tight hamstring, as per Wayne Randazzo.)
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted June 2, 2021 Posted June 2, 2021 Randy Johnson: the Hall of Famer endorsed by Geddy Lee.
LWFS Old-Timey Member Posted June 2, 2021 Posted June 2, 2021 Castro-- helped by a nice DP to end the 8th-- turns in a solid two innings of work.Lindor-- who started it-- gets a hustle double to start the next one.

Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted June 2, 2021 Posted June 2, 2021 Diaz hits the bull on his first pitch.
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted June 2, 2021 Posted June 2, 2021 Been back on, frozen screens but audio works. Then when it's timefor a commercial break it starts working again. Brilliant!
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 2, 2021 Posted June 2, 2021 Definitely a decrease in agita on grounders hit at Lindor vs recent NYM SSs
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted June 2, 2021 Posted June 2, 2021 I do believe Johnson appears in that Rush doc.You just don't wanna get in the row behind him at a show.
LWFS Old-Timey Member Posted June 2, 2021 Posted June 2, 2021 Just noticing now how much like an Easter Island/Rapa Nui statue Diaz's mug looks like, especially when he gets all scowly.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 2, 2021 Posted June 2, 2021 (edited) OK, a sweep in the desert would have been nice, but no disgrace in taking Only five of seven from the weak sisters of the NL West Edited June 2, 2021 by Guest
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted June 2, 2021 Posted June 2, 2021 Now I'm back in the first inning, Mets winning 3-sniffle. I'm done.
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted June 2, 2021 Posted June 2, 2021 They won the damn thing! Can I say that?

Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted June 3, 2021 Posted June 3, 2021 Like the Mets, YouTube was a bit glitchy.Want to know what this team is made of? 7 games in 10 days against the Padres might tell you.

Even a tough series against a good team (and someone on yesterday's broadcast said he thought the Pods were the best team in the NL) probably leaves the Mets in first place. This is like playing with house money--I suspect they're loose and could give the Pods a hard time. The D'backs looked pretty awful in the field, didn't they? I think we can expect the Padres not to be handing out runs like that for free. I once told my kids they were called "Error-zona" for that reason.
