LWFS Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2021 Posted April 22, 2021 Whaddaya know? Actual, honest-to-Tug relief.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2021 Posted April 22, 2021 That's even worse than us stranding Conforto on 2nd w/no outs.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 22, 2021 Posted April 22, 2021 Pillar did a lot of watching there.Let's stick with Castro. If he gets in any trouble, you can double-switch in Diaz.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2021 Posted April 22, 2021 The 7 pitch inning by Kimbrel means we'll likely see him again if we wind up forcing this game into the 10th
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 22, 2021 Posted April 22, 2021 I thought they'd swap Almora in for Pillar, but I didn't think that, if McNeil gets up, he automatically gets up with a dude in scoring position.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 22, 2021 Posted April 22, 2021 Wow, that was a terrific matchup on that Diaz-Rizzo at-bat.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 22, 2021 Posted April 22, 2021 Let's just make a rule that every play involving McNeil goes to a replay.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2021 Posted April 22, 2021 Pillar will be the 'Manfred Man' to start the 10th.In the Reds/Snakes game today, ARZ scored 6 in the top half only to see Cincy score three times in the bottom and get the tying run to the plate in the form of Joey Votto (he K'd)
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 22, 2021 Posted April 22, 2021 Guillorme may be the new McNeil — the guy you really want up there when you need contact.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2021 Posted April 22, 2021 Walk sets up the GIDP, but it also gets a batter up with a fresh count.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 22, 2021 Posted April 22, 2021 Lindy is really showing a hole in his swing there up and away.
LWFS Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2021 Posted April 22, 2021 They CANNOT lay off his high fastball.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 22, 2021 Posted April 22, 2021 Man, EVERYTHING is up with this guy.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2021 Posted April 22, 2021 Hey Dom, lemme whisper something in your ear: LAY OFF THE HIGH SHIT!!!!
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2021 Posted April 22, 2021 Runner on 2nd no outs = 0Runner on 3rd no outs = 0
LWFS Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2021 Posted April 22, 2021 They seem to find and amplify the stupid in just about every offensive situation. Just plain disheartening.

I was amazed at how Foley was getting so many swinging strikes with a 93 MPH fastball and immediately thought of Sid Fernandez throughout Foley's outing - how Sid's unique delivery and wide body type hid the ball and Sid's release point for a few fractions of a second longer and so batters didn't pick up Sid's pitches as early as they'd pick up most other pitcher's pitches and so Sid's fastballs played like they were a few MPH's faster than they actually were.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 22, 2021 Posted April 22, 2021 Perhaps more than Rod Beck or Goose, the Sheriff is also singing the tunes of Gorman Thomas.https://www.baseball-reference.com/req/202103260/images/headshots/e/eb240336_sabr.jpg>
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted April 23, 2021 Posted April 23, 2021 I fell asleep after the wild pitch in the top of the tenth. Fuckin guys

SRF's outing last night is probably the most encouraging thing I've seen on the field at least all year.
