Pillar did a lot of watching there.

Let's stick with Castro. If he gets in any trouble, you can double-switch in Diaz.

I thought they'd swap Almora in for Pillar, but I didn't think that, if McNeil gets up, he automatically gets up with a dude in scoring position.

Pillar will be the 'Manfred Man' to start the 10th.

In the Reds/Snakes game today, ARZ scored 6 in the top half only to see Cincy score three times in the bottom and get the tying run to the plate in the form of Joey Votto (he K'd)

They seem to find and amplify the stupid in just about every offensive situation. Just plain disheartening.

His 93 seems to jump on guys like a guy throwing harder than that.

I was consumed with these exact same thoughts throughout SR-F's entire outing tonight. I was amazed at how Foley was getting so many swinging strikes with a 93 MPH fastball and immediately thought of Sid Fernandez throughout Foley's outing - how Sid's unique delivery and wide body type hid the ball and Sid's release point for a few fractions of a second longer and so batters didn't pick up Sid's pitches as early as they'd pick up most other pitcher's pitches and so Sid's fastballs played like they were a few MPH's faster than they actually were.

I was so excited to get rid of Matz I barely considered who got they got back but it seemed like it was something of a double "change of scenery" trade. SRF's outing last night is probably the most encouraging thing I've seen on the field at least all year.
