Then put out THAT statement? Yeah, no, I'm not forgetting.
batmagadanleadoff Old-Timey Member Posted April 6, 2021 Posted April 6, 2021 (edited) It might have been a better solution to have the Braves keep the game, but allow or even encourage, the players to wear some kind of personal statement on their jerseys. Here's an ever better idea: let's let Braves players put some black tape over their 2021 All-Star Game commemorative uniform patches.[FIMG=222]https://specials-images.forbesimg.com/imageserve/60692cb86b2f5ddd07553dc8/960x0.jpg?fit=scale[/FIMG]Fuck the Braves and their new White Flight Stadium and fuck Georgia. Also, the Braves were like the only MLB team to opt-out and not participate in MLB's Get Out the Vote 2020 program. Even the Texas Rangers participated. Edited April 6, 2021 by Guest
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted April 6, 2021 Posted April 6, 2021 White tape would be more apropos.
batmagadanleadoff Old-Timey Member Posted April 6, 2021 Posted April 6, 2021 It's outrageous that someone would defend a law that, among other things, gives Georgia's heavily gerrymandered Republican State legislature the right to overturn a county's election results if it doesn't like the results. Did Georgia consult with Michigan and its use of emergency managers for that idea?
Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted April 6, 2021 Posted April 6, 2021 Why would any team want this All-Star Game, having been pulled from another team with few of the benefits that go with hosting a game? It might have been a better solution to have the Braves keep the game, but allow or even encourage, the players to wear some kind of personal statement on their jerseys. Why would another team want to host a future game, knowing it takes at least a year of preparation and could be pulled away at nearly the last minute for reasons that have nothing to do with the team? Why would Dick Monfort want to curry favor with the league, help out, be a good MLB citizen? Maybe so they look the other way as he bumbles the franchise around? I don't think the Wilpons ever really got to the point where they would've been forced to sell, but being good buddies with MLB and playing nice and abiding by unwritten draft rules, letting them test statcast or anything else, humidors, etc, etc and all that rich boys club stuff certainly gave them a buffer that others might not have had.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 6, 2021 Posted April 6, 2021 I guess MLB managed to find somebody who wanted the game. And the draft.
batmagadanleadoff Old-Timey Member Posted April 6, 2021 Posted April 6, 2021 Why would anyone ever wanna buy a house knowing that Mother Nature could destroy it through no fault of the homeowner? Why would anyone ever wanna get out of bed knowing they're gonna be sleepy all over again in a few hours, anyways?
