Edgy MD Site Manager Posted March 18, 2021 Posted March 18, 2021 High stakes, man. That's the life of the closer. High stakes. When you're on, everything is good. Food tastes sweeter. Ducks look cuter. The music sounds more fluid and mellifluous. And when you're off, the children are rambunctious, the weather is unbearable, and your boss is tyrannical. This is all scientifically proven. And so you try not to be off.But goodness those extremes are even more intense for me. I strike out more fools than anybody who has ever worn a Mets uniform. But if they lay off the slider away, I walk a guy or two. And when I come up and in, and I leave it over the plate, it gets hit for miles. Miles and miles. I don't care how hard I throw it. It's like they knew it was coming. So how much of the first Edwin are you going to see in 2021, and how much of the second? Because I'm both guys, and I like my food to taste good as much as the next guy. Just ... just put some food in your mouth and watch this shit.
smg58 Old-Timey Member Posted March 18, 2021 Posted March 18, 2021 He'll be... OK. 3.10 ERA, 90 K in 60 IP. And if Lugo takes his time coming back, he'll still be the best reliever on the team.

Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted March 18, 2021 Posted March 18, 2021 I think his CAHNfidence score went up, as did mine, last year.No guy is perfect though.2-4, 38 saves, 3.34. Gets it done at the plate with lots of whiffs and walks, let's say 13 k/9, 4 bb/9
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted March 18, 2021 Posted March 18, 2021 What's the record for saves? 62? Then he gets 63. He's going to be lights-out this year.
LWFS Old-Timey Member Posted March 18, 2021 Posted March 18, 2021 Good news: he'll be nearly untouchable. He'll be blown up twice, on two badly-located pitches. The rest of the time, ridiculous, to the tune of an 1.34 ERA and 98 K/22 BB over 65 innings or so, ridiculous to the point of tempting overuse... leading to...Bad news: Injury in September. Missed month for arthroscopic surgery to clean up the knee. Back in time for the second round of the playoffs... if we get there.
