I've seen several level swings producing opposite field hits today. I like it.

Man, that Easy Spirit jingle is timeless comedy gold, isn't it?

And here I was, worried it wouldn't scan. (Lately, I also find myself dropping twists on the TCBY "All of the flavor/none of the guilt" in political debate/discourse with friends and family.)

That said, as the kids say, I think I'm still here for McWilliams.

Thursday evening matchup features three Cy Youngs and a disembodied voice inside your iPhone.

Actually, it features something akin to your expected opening day lineup.

Somehow that lineup mismatch produced only a one-run win for the Mets.

And somehow, Jacob deGrom hit 102 MPH. Seventeen strikeouts against one hit for five Mets pitchers.

My in-game summary of today's game says, "player singled to left, Frank Tepedino scores".

WTF?

Is this an old timer's game?

Frank Tepedino is 74 years old!

And baseball reference doesn't have any other player with that name, not even in the minors.

The next meeting of the Time Travelers Association will be held last Thursday at 7:30 PM. Usual place.

OE: They've changed it to "player scores"

I picked a heckuva day to stop drinking.

Weird and annoying rule wrinkles in play this afternoon in St. Lucie, as the Mets use the DH rule while the Cardinals forego the same.

Game being advertised as on MLBN but I think it's also a PIX game here. For second

Sunday in a row Fios channel guide has many Friends episodes listed instead.

Other than at second, this looks like the lineup fullest of starters they've used for a while. Let's see if the offense can start producing runs.

Down 4-2 in the fifth, but they got something going as Caleb Joseph gets plunked, putting two on and no out for Nimminoski.

Nimmo hit tooo!

Lindor walks!

Conforto singles!

Alonso singes!

Mets up, 6-4!

Still two on and no out!!

Nobody's been hurt!!

The Cards had to go and pull the plug on that inning.

There are three guys in the booth, but Ron Darling's is the only voice I recognized.

Guillorme was down 0-2 and then...

That's terrific. Good managers remember that sort of thing.

Garry Apple and Todd Zeile, I think.

Not going to see a poorly pitched inning like that again for awhile.

They're running the gauntlet from A to Z today with Apple and Zeile

With most observers giving him only token consideration as a potential starter before spring training started AND wondering aloud about how much of a mirage his offense is... Guillorme just keeps bringing the damn work, doesn't he?

He got through that inning "clean," but having seen it with mine own peepers: control-wise, Vizcaino is kind of a goddamn mess. Had poor Mazeika scrambling around like a hockey goalie during a rapidfire drill.
