whippoorwill Old-Timey Member Posted November 27, 2020 Posted November 27, 2020 I guess he might want to join us again
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted November 27, 2020 Posted November 27, 2020 If all else fails, he might be an interesting back of the rotation/spot starter. He says he wants to rejoin, and then retire from, the Mets:https://sports.yahoo.com/bartolo-colon-wants-play-one-024925906.htmlhttps://sports.yahoo.com/bartolo-colon-wants-play-one-024925906.htmlBut if they put the DH into the NL, we would be deprived the fun of watching him bat. whippoorwill Old-Timey Member Posted November 27, 2020 Author Posted November 27, 2020 I'd just as soon have him as most of the stiffs we've had the last couple of years
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted November 28, 2020 Posted November 28, 2020 I'd bet heavily against this happening.
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted November 28, 2020 Posted November 28, 2020 His bb-ref page has him at 285 lbs so I'm guessing he's around 310 lol...I've (we've) always thought he'd be a good coach, would love to have TBS backon in some coaching capacity.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted November 28, 2020 Posted November 28, 2020 Bullpen coach, maybe. Player, no.At least Steve Cohen could absorb the food cost without feeling it.
Chad ochoseis Old-Timey Member Posted November 28, 2020 Posted November 28, 2020 With the DH a better than even chance to become permanent in the NL, it would be great to have his bat in the lineup.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted November 28, 2020 Posted November 28, 2020 God made minor-league contracts for a reason.I'd be very surprised if any team offered him a big league deal.

ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted November 28, 2020 Posted November 28, 2020 Hitting another homer > Priceless
Marshmallowmilkshake Old-Timey Member Posted November 28, 2020 Posted November 28, 2020 Assuming there are fans in the stands, I'd like to see Bartolo get a spring training sendoff like HoJo got. I was at some of those games. He had a chance to put the uniform on, play in some games and get standing ovations and go out on his own terms.
