ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted September 3, 2020 Posted September 3, 2020 Simply put. They do play today with heavy hearts there and here.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 3, 2020 Posted September 3, 2020 They've reprogrammed the display on the CitiField scoreboard to match the layout from Seaver's era.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 3, 2020 Posted September 3, 2020 Too bad nobody's there to enjoy. Half-mast flags too.https://metsrostercentral.files.wordpress.com/2020/09/screen-shot-2020-09-03-at-4.15.57-pm.png>

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 3, 2020 Posted September 3, 2020 It's a shame that Gselly is getting bopped here in the second inning. He seems to be pitching with confidence, but he gets everybody to 3-2 and then leaves one over the plate.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted September 3, 2020 Posted September 3, 2020 Time for Gsellman to go back to the bullpen. Lockett would be a decent sub but he's now a Mariner.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 3, 2020 Posted September 3, 2020 Considering thata) 4 runs is more than we've ever scored against Happ in, like, everand that the Yanx have more hits w/RiSP In This Inning than we had in July and August put together, the results of this game aren't looking good.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 3, 2020 Posted September 3, 2020 Theater of the Obvious, I know, but Koos sounds old.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 3, 2020 Posted September 3, 2020 I know Keith's story about Seaver's no-hitter, but I didn't know he did it with curves. Seaver usually just had a curve to show. It was his fourth-best pitch by far.Kinda the same distribution as deGrom. Fastball 50%, Slider 40%, Change 7%, and Curve 3%.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 3, 2020 Posted September 3, 2020 Man, Pete, just squeeze the man home. Half the infield is empty.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted September 3, 2020 Posted September 3, 2020 Jake Marisnick is suddenly our best hitter
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted September 3, 2020 Posted September 3, 2020 Rosie with a big hit
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 3, 2020 Posted September 3, 2020 Chirinos joining the effort is sweet, too.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted September 3, 2020 Posted September 3, 2020 McNeils head is finally emerging from his ass
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 3, 2020 Posted September 3, 2020 ALL TIED UP!See what you can do when just make good contact, you bastids.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 3, 2020 Posted September 3, 2020 And the first four innings only took two hours!!!
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted September 3, 2020 Posted September 3, 2020 Did I hear Gary say that "Onomatopoeia" was warming up in the Yankees bullpen?
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 3, 2020 Posted September 3, 2020 Let's KABOOM off of Onomatopoeia and get Familia the win here.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 3, 2020 Posted September 3, 2020 "No chance for the righthander against Ottovino."Maybe, but there might be a chance if he doesn't swing at a slider that ends up a foot outside.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 3, 2020 Posted September 3, 2020 Have ALL of the MFY runs is this six-game series come with two outs or just 95% of them?
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 3, 2020 Posted September 3, 2020 Yeah, usually two strikes, too.But this is a one out rally, and the game is getting away.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted September 3, 2020 Posted September 3, 2020 C'mon! Let's win one for the Gipper.Later
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 3, 2020 Posted September 3, 2020 Let's see a leadoff bunt for McNeil.
