Rick Porcello vs Zack Wheeler today. For those of you playing along at home, Porcello is on the Mets and Wheeler is on the Phils.

I'm still not past processing passing mentions of Zack Wheeler as “ours”. I suppose that stops today.

Weather.com says it's currently raining, but should stop by gametime.

So far this series, we've had the Cock Punch Loss and the We Got Blown Out loss, so we're due for the Obscure Bats Come Alive and We Win 13-2 and Provide False Hope victory.

Hey Mr. Wilson, did you see how fast the catcher moved from right to left, covered just enough of the plate to alter the runner's slide while giving him a legal lane to the plate and got his glove all the way to the ground, or were you huffing and puffing after running 90 feet, something you aren't used to doing this season?

Both. The throw was bad (it should have been an E and not a hit for Ramos), Giminez was running on the pitch and kept running until he met his demise at home.

I know it always seems this way when looking at your own team ... but JEEZ we certainly appear to be getting burned by a ton of bloopers and swinging bunts in this young season.

Hamilton's leg injury looked very painful. He hit the first base bag wrong and likely pulled something

Porcello has been terrific in this game, Guillorme also!

Ben Franklin still wearing the same threads, he's gotta be be smelling quite ripe.

Not that the (lack of) NYM gloves haven't contributed to things late in the game here, but these Philly rallies started and/or were fueled by slow choppers to 3rd: the one that banked off the base;

the one that Davis threw poorly; the one that Dom caught poorly.

After that, it's like the Phils don't hit the ball hard until there are men on base while the Mets only hit the ball hard when they're empty.

Oh and look at that ... another infield hit!!

A catcher who can run (Realmuto). It is as unusual as a new life form to Mets fans.

Was thinking that today. Trip to Florida to play the fish is next and they ain't half bad.

Mets just don't have much firepower going forward. J.D. Davis had no answers on the postgame but to "grind" and he's right

This season reeks of fakeyitis at this point. Everyone kinda gets a pass. Those players that do achieve will have some leverage in 2021

Squish the fish!
