bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted August 8, 2020 Posted August 8, 2020 David Peterson (LHP, https://www.mlb.com/player/david-peterson-656849https://www.mlb.com/player/david-peterson-656849) goes for the Mets against TBD for the Marlins. The Mets struggled against TBD last night so I don't know why tonight will be any different. And if you're still annoyed with last night's loss, this won't cheer you up:https://twitter.com/Peter_Baugh/status/1291930793921699840https://twitter.com/Peter_Baugh/status/1291930793921699840
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 8, 2020 Posted August 8, 2020 I shudder at the though that maybe he does make everyone around him better.I prefer to think that he is the luckiest mo-fo on the face of the Earth.Later
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted August 8, 2020 Posted August 8, 2020 He has a long way to go to catch up to Donald Trump in that department
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted August 8, 2020 Author Posted August 8, 2020 Update: it's Daniel Castano for the Marlins who is making his MLB debut. ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 8, 2020 Posted August 8, 2020 Then again..Billy Hamilton, welcome to Mets University
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 8, 2020 Posted August 8, 2020 An actual 2-run rally after two were out and none on!That may be a first of the season for us ... even as we've given up our share.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 8, 2020 Posted August 8, 2020 OK Larry David fans, a little info as to the joke about improper bowing?
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 8, 2020 Posted August 8, 2020 I think tonight's strike zone is more erratic than last night's.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 8, 2020 Posted August 8, 2020 I believe the bowing was very indirectly related to catchphrase 'not that there's anything wrong with it." I believe Keith giggled at the mention of bending over
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 8, 2020 Posted August 8, 2020 Not enough strikes being calledI like the defense Billy Hamilton brings to CF
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 8, 2020 Posted August 8, 2020 You can't get a GiDP and Still somehow manage to leave the bases loaded!!

He gets into a thing with a New York Japanese restaurant manager who neglects to fasten his soup lid tight enough. The manager apologizes and bows to seal it... only it's a not-very-deep one. When he replicates TGE gesture to a Japanese tourist he accidentally offends, the man is annoyed. He tells Larry a bow of that depth is "a joke, an insult... worse than NO bow."Practically handing the other team tying-run-on opportunities? Maybe worse.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted August 8, 2020 Posted August 8, 2020 OK, I think it's time to end using Familia.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 8, 2020 Posted August 8, 2020 Gizzelley, on the other hand, is looking nasty at the moment.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 8, 2020 Posted August 8, 2020 This game is getting long in the tooth
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 8, 2020 Posted August 8, 2020 Gary's implication was that the bowing story was a lot dirtier than that. "We have to wait until between innings to tell you Keith ... we're not on HBO"
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 8, 2020 Posted August 8, 2020 Shoulda left Lugo in. Hefner is not impressing me
LWFS Old-Timey Member Posted August 8, 2020 Posted August 8, 2020 Wilsoned. Books. Why the hell doesn't Billy Hamilton not just choke up and Baltimore chop EVERYTHING?
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 8, 2020 Posted August 8, 2020 Agreed on Billy Hamilton, but my calls for a return to that sort of ball has been quixotic, to say the least.Nice to see the 3-4-5 hitters all homer in the same game. It must feel good to see it shake out like it was drawn up on the lineup card. Also nice to see Gselly back after a year in the woods and bringing the good stuff.
