Re-live Endy Chavez's spectacular over-the-wall catch and lotsa other great Mets memories as the MLB network re-broadcasts Game Seven of the 2006 NLCS today at noon.

Yeah to me the biggest disappointment of that game came when they loaded the bases in the bottom of that inning with 1 out. Anything would have given the Mets the lead except a strike out, and Valentin struck out. Beltran's 9th inning K is overrated

Seems to be a scheduling glitch, Yearbook 2016 was on and at 1:00

there's 2015 G2 NLCS

SNY replaying 2000 NLDS vs SFG this week, starting tonight at 7:30.

Thursday 10 PM MLBN showing a Game Four 2000 NLCS vs STL (the one with all the doubles wherein Shea shook like never before).

Watching Game 3 NOW. We had a terrific bullpen then, as much as we all complained then. Feisty Cook tries to shiver Dwight Bernard on a hunt attempt. After a leadoff walk to Bonds, Rick White freezes Kent on a fastball for strike 3 and gets Mirabelli to fly out with 2 on. We had old crafty Franco and terrifying Benitez.

White flirts with more danger in the 13th but induces a 2-out popup from Bonds. Whew. And here comes Benny.

I confess here that I absolutely lived and died with the Mets in 00 but had a date nite at a Broadway show I can't remember with the future Wifey Bucket (it was her b-day, and I'd acquired these Tix long before I had any idea there would be a playoff game). We missed the end of this game by about 15 minutes. Rick White gets the win. A young Josh Lewin now interviewing the hero

Game 4 on now. Remember this one better as Frayed Knot and I watched this one from the second to last row in the Upper Deck, though right off home plate. Crisp brilliant day, convinced BJ was gonna lose it at any moment, just didn't happen.

Ventura just homered.

Of course. Post-season. Duh.

I'm trying to ramp up my workouts and rapidly get up to mid-season form. But there are bound to be some bumps along the way.

Watch Carlos Delgado go deep twice as the 2006 Mets, that season's best team,

lose to the Cardinals in game two of the 2006 NLCS, airing right now.

Right now on SNY, in progress, the 2013 All Star Game from Citi Field. At 3:00PM, Polar Bear Pete Alonso wins the 2019 HR Derby. Then at 5:30, it's a trip through the way way back machine to the Polo Grounds where Marvelous Marv misses first base, and then second base on his way to what Marv thought would be a triple.

Mets over Miami right now on SNY, from 8/5/2019, as the Mets go over the .500 mark for the first time in a long while, speared by three 7th inning solo HR's (Davis, Conforto and the Polar Bear).

Then, it's the shirt game, arguably the high point of last year's Mets season, as the Mets stage a dramatic walk-off rally to win their 14th out of 15 games.

The famous 19 inning 4th of July game in Atlanta is on MLB at 3:00 ET.

Whose announcers? The Braves announcers were dreadful in the TBS days. Give me Ralph, Tim and Steve Zabriskie.

Mrs. Lefty, before we ever met, had a broken arm at the time and couldn't sleep, so she wound up watching the whole thing until 4 AM.

John Sterling and Ernie Johnson for the Braves. And just before Camp hit his improbable homer, Sterling said to partner Ernie Johnson, “Ernie, if he hits a home run to tie this game, this game will be certified as absolutely the nuttiest in the history of baseball.”

That McDowell, never a full moment.

Never a dull moment, either.

Throughout the night, Mets kept disappearing into their clubhouse to grab handfuls of popcorn, a snack the Braves' visiting clubhouse manager, John Holland, always kept in plentiful supply. "There was a lot of popcorn eaten," Howard Johnson says.

[***]

One remarkable total that didn't make the boxscore: Roger McDowell, now the Braves' pitching coach, ate seven cheeseburgers from the time he came out of the game after the third inning to the end, Holland recalls.

11 AM ET today (7/10): MLBN showing condensed Game One 2015 WS. Unless they condense it to 8 1/2 innings, not for the faint of heart.

11 AM Saturday (7/11): MLBN encore of the 19-inning game, three-hour edition. Thought it was well done, mixing in Mets & Braves feed and interspersing Bob Costas in his kitchen studio. Ronnie joins Bob and Tom Verducci at the end.

Um... why the hell isn't SNY showing us some camp action? YES has been doing it for nigh on a week, now.
