Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted March 1, 2020 Posted March 1, 2020 Hard at the moment to see where this guy fits in, gotta hold off Mauricio behind him and break Rosario ahead. Does he hit enough to be a Ruben Tejada Jr.?
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted March 1, 2020 Posted March 1, 2020 He impressed me with a good glove and great arm in the game I saw him last year. He even took an outside pitch to the opposite field for a long double (he hits lefty). He might make the club this year as a late year call up, but I doubt it because of the new September roster restrictions. Maybe 2021. But he definitely will have Luis Guillorme looking over his shoulder and hearing footsteps for his roster spot.Later
smg58 Old-Timey Member Posted March 3, 2020 Posted March 3, 2020 My gut says he won't be a Met much longer, unless he hits at Syracuse like he did in Arizona over the winter.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted March 4, 2020 Posted March 4, 2020 Gets a cuppa in September after a fine year in upstate New York.
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted March 9, 2020 Posted March 9, 2020 Traded mid-summer in that trade I haven't even hinted at (or thought about) yet.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted March 9, 2020 Author Posted March 9, 2020 I think he'll need not 1 but 2 injuries (Rosey and Guillotine) to see some action this year but whackier things have happened. I'll be optimistic and say that were such a thing to happen he'll be having a good enough year at AAA to make an argument.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted March 9, 2020 Posted March 9, 2020 Times like this I'm so glad our AAA team isn't in LV anymore. We can actually see how he does at sea level. He looked very coordinated and athletic in the spring training games but I don't think he'll ever hit for enough power to stick. Better than Tejada, but not much better.
