The market for Zach Wheeler is, apparently massive. While everyone from the Twins to the Rangers to the Wilmington Quicksteps seem to be in him, the buzz suggests that he'll (a) sign before the Winter Meetings, and (B) give the Mets a chance to match his best offer. Both of those may, of course be the shit of bulls. I heard that even some team called the "ChiSox" are pursuing him. I'll have to look them up.

So get your prediction in here:

1) Who will Wheelie sign with?

2) For how long?

3) For how much?

The world we live in: News12 Westchester just ran a 20 second

report at the end the sports that Zach has at least one offer off 100+

and that... wait for it... this offer is reportedly not from the Yankees.

Ken Rosenthal says things are moving fast. Several offers over $100 million. The consensus seems to be that there is untapped potential in Wheeler, which I guess seems to be an indictment of the Mets not being able to get the most out of Zack.

Earlier reports were that Wheeler intended to circle back before he signs. Let's hope so because the rumors are that the Mets are not serious players.

One thing about Brodie is that aside from the Cano trade, he's moved pretty stealthily. Let's hope that's the case here.

Is that the consensus? Seems bold. You'd have to be crazy to bank on turning one of the top 15 or so pitchers in the game into one of the top 5 or so. At some point you have to stop reading into initial scouting reports and prospect status and just look at what he is. Sure, maybe you can get a season 10% better or so based on some minor tweaks and mixing up the scouting reports a little, but can just as easily go the other way too.

I think you're getting what you've seen with the Mets the last two years. I hope it's with the Mets, I like Wheeler and it's extremely unlikely you're replacing that value in one player.

I dunno, man. You come out a winner.

I thought Braves too. But since it's off the board, I'll say Phillies. 5 years, $114 million.
