Mets have DFA'd Drew Gagnon, who is reportedly on the verge of signing with a Korean ballclub.

I was a not-so-secret Drew Gagnon fan. His work was pretty inconsistent, and he didn't have the most talent out there, but I feel like he could have been effective in small doses. I seem to recall he made his debut for the Tuesday Night Mets Club, left in there a batter or two too long.

He had been doing strong solid work in the upper minors. And I optimistically thought that it was only a matter of time before it translated to the majors, at least at some level. But hey, he's almost 30.

There was talk yesterday that Gagnon was headed to a Korean league team was enabled the Mets to take him off the 40-man and protect an additional player. Jacob Rahme is still on the 40-man which I don't understand.
