G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted September 7, 2019 Posted September 7, 2019 (edited) There's a lotta letters in Syndergaard vs Velasquez. Here are three more:SOSSaveOurSeason Edited September 7, 2019 by Guest
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2019 Posted September 8, 2019 Is that a very young Geena Davis as the initial scrubber?Need Noah to pitch a shutout and hit a home run (again).
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 8, 2019 Posted September 8, 2019 Velasquez looking desperate as the Mets open up for three in the first.Got to bat Nimmo leadoff. Eight walks in 18 appearances since his return!
Guest 41Forever Guests Posted September 8, 2019 Posted September 8, 2019 Thor showing a lot of sock today. Is that new for him?
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 8, 2019 Posted September 8, 2019 Well, he's ... oh, you said sock.
Guest 41Forever Guests Posted September 8, 2019 Posted September 8, 2019 You knew Pete was going to hit by these guys at some point.
Guest 41Forever Guests Posted September 8, 2019 Posted September 8, 2019 Pretty much the worst bunt ever.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 8, 2019 Posted September 8, 2019 Give it time. There are worse bunts to come.Phils have stolen three times. Ramos has yet to even make a throw.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 8, 2019 Posted September 8, 2019 The Mets fall behind but they would have been out of the inning if Conforto hit the cutoff man. The trailing runner was dead to rights. And the Mets tie it up on Nimmo's bases-loaded single. Rosario grounds out with the go-ahead on third. Two out.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 8, 2019 Posted September 8, 2019 Todd the Bod up with the bags juiced and two down.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2019 Posted September 8, 2019 Can we get summer Rosario back? He's much better than spring Rosario.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2019 Posted September 8, 2019 Ball 4 in the dirt. Noah could have done that. Go away Todd.
Guest 41Forever Guests Posted September 8, 2019 Posted September 8, 2019 And Frazier swings and misses at ball four.
Guest 41Forever Guests Posted September 8, 2019 Posted September 8, 2019 And now we have a tie game and four innings with the bullpen.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 8, 2019 Posted September 8, 2019 Good news, though: Sewald is entering the game in a nice position to pick up his first career win ... or take a step toward the all-time record for most losses without a win.
Guest 41Forever Guests Posted September 8, 2019 Posted September 8, 2019 And Sewald allows a leadoff double.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2019 Posted September 8, 2019 =41Forever post_id=21293 time=1567970251 user_id=69]And now we have a tie game and four innings with the bullpen.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2019 Posted September 8, 2019 (edited) What kind of fucking moron takes out Syndergaard, even when he's not at his best, for a POS like Sewald? Can Mickey be fired while the game is on?Frazier is hitting .234 and his OBP is .310 but by all means, put him in. Edited September 8, 2019 by Guest
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 8, 2019 Posted September 8, 2019 Sewald exits ineligible for the win, but eligible for the loss.Shmuh-oh.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2019 Posted September 8, 2019 Sending Noah up to strikeout was the right move, with this awful bullpen, but Mickey is an absolute idiot.
Guest 41Forever Guests Posted September 8, 2019 Posted September 8, 2019 Kinda looked like Ramos thought the throw was going home and slowed down as he got near first.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2019 Posted September 8, 2019 In addition to that being the longest (9 inning) game in NYM history*, it may also have been the unclutchiest one. 14 hits (including 2 HRs) plus 7 walks plus a HBP has to add up to more than 7 runs. We gotta quit getting the leadoff guy(s) on so often ... it's killing our whole offense. It particularly suxx when you're allowing the other side 10 runs on a lot fewer baserunners (13 + 4 + 0) On PH'ing for Syndergaard: After being handed a 3-run lead, Syndy proceeded to give it all back and more by the 5th. Of the last 14 batters he faced in the game he coughed up 5 runs while getting 9 outs, but 2 of those outs were the pitcher, one was a run-scoring Sac Fly, and another was on the base-paths (so more like 5 of 15 hitters faced). If you don't want to be PH'd for than a) pitch better, and don't K in 3/4 of your ABs and/or bunt into DPs. I had no problem with Mickey's thought process although I might have gone with someone other than Frazier. On Mickey's choice to IW Andrew Knapp on the other hand, a .200 hitting backup catcher and the #8 hitter, I saw, and still see, absolutely no upside in that, even without Harper on the bench.*I watched via tape delay so got to skip all the commercials and it STILL took forever!
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2019 Posted September 8, 2019 I chose NFL today. I got up from my nap and they were down 10-5 and I didn't really even think about tuning in. C'est la vie.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted September 9, 2019 Posted September 9, 2019 The 2d Sunday game in a row where Mickey made a bad decision and it led to the loss. I can't think of a game all season when he pushed the right button. The Mets go into every game at a deficit because his poor in-game judgment.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted September 9, 2019 Posted September 9, 2019 Was lucky to miss this one almost entirely. Did Century bike ride and was shocked to discover it was still on when I returned home.I only saw B9. Had tying run with Alfonso and Conforto. That's not nothing
