Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 22, 2019 Posted August 22, 2019 Like Plutko yesterday, prior to this series I had never heard of Civale either.Aaron Civale [bR/TR - 6' 2" - 215] has a bit more of a pedigree than Plutko. The just turned 24 y/o Connecticut native was a 3rd round draft pick (2016) by the Indians out of Northeastern Univ.Made his ML debut in June, this will be his 5th ML start. He went exactly six innings in each of the previous four.-- 0 Runs, 2 H, 6 K, 3 BB vs Detroit (W)-- 1 Run, 3 H, 7 K, 1 BB vs Texas (L)-- 1 Run, 4 H, 5 K, 0 BB vs Minnesota (ND)-- 3 Runs (2 ER), 8 Hits, 4 K, 2 BB vs NYY (L)Also had good numbers [sub-3.00 ERA; WHIPs near 1.00] across 13 AA and AAA games this season
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 22, 2019 Author Posted August 22, 2019 Todd Frazier looks gassed. No resting in a pennant race.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 22, 2019 Posted August 22, 2019 J.D. Davis is touched by hand of God right now. I've never seen a corner outfielder make a play like that.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 22, 2019 Posted August 22, 2019 Thanks for chasing that ball like a sucker, Naquin.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 22, 2019 Posted August 22, 2019 Are you punks watching this thing??Check in. This is some show.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 22, 2019 Posted August 22, 2019 Noah coming to the plate to "Immigrant Song."

dinosaur jesus Old-Timey Member Posted August 22, 2019 Posted August 22, 2019 That was terrific by Alonso. Do you guys really think Davis made a great play? It looked to me like he didn't get a good read, got a little lost, and was as surprised as anyone when the ball landed in his glove. Keith and Ron think it was great, so what do I know.

nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted August 22, 2019 Posted August 22, 2019 RAIN RAIN GO AWAY ... BEFORE THE BULLPEN IS FORCED TO PLAY
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 22, 2019 Posted August 22, 2019 Rain delay called at 8:45.For all Syndergaard's pitch economy, he may not be able to continue deep into the game after all.
LWFS Old-Timey Member Posted August 22, 2019 Posted August 22, 2019 Squall should pass quickly. We're westward, and got the same storm forty minutes ago; it was gone in ten.

Keith and Ron think it was great, so what do I know.On replay, the fact that the glove was in the right place was a little more intentional than it seemed upon first viewing.I sure wasn't a pretty play, but it was a tough one which I thought he had about a 2% chance of snagging.By some standards, that's essentially the definition of a great play.Marlins just went ahead of Atlanta & Soroka in the top of the 7th. 2-1, Fish still batting.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 22, 2019 Posted August 22, 2019 My radar guy is E. F. Hutton and E. F. Hutton says ...
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted August 22, 2019 Posted August 22, 2019 Kevin Roth, a professional meteorologist who does weather forecasts for fantasy baseball purposes, says the starting pitchers are done, the rain will last. There is a second batch of storms that may hit or just miss too, if it hits its a rainout - good for the Mets!
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted August 22, 2019 Posted August 22, 2019 My radar guy concurs with Mr. Roth.

Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 22, 2019 Posted August 22, 2019 I was watching, with Fboy, just not 'Poolin. Noah was dealing. I am hoping that they call it. I had time to go play in my 10 PM rec league volleyball game and come home without missing any game action, so that's a plus.
LWFS Old-Timey Member Posted August 22, 2019 Posted August 22, 2019 (edited) Who the V plays recreational sports at 10 pm on a school night?NOT Tyler Naquin, who's all business cutting down Mr. Toms River with a strike at the plate. Edited August 22, 2019 by Guest
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 22, 2019 Posted August 22, 2019 Naquin giveth with his legs and Naquin taketh away with his arm.
LWFS Old-Timey Member Posted August 22, 2019 Posted August 22, 2019 Honestly, I'm not sure how to feel about C-word's velocity gain, knowing that it supposedly came from the quack-ass anti-inflammatory/MSG/dairy/"combining fruit with things" diet of QB Satan hisself.
