Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2019 Posted August 9, 2019 It is. And a laser beam.

Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2019 Posted August 9, 2019 Alonso diving twice for balls Panik could have easily fielded.

Bad taste in TV tuning, though.Guy behind me in a Bacardi shirt got them to change the riveting Pittsburgh/TB preseason action. What a game.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2019 Posted August 9, 2019 So now this is where, after forcing the Nats to choose between a PH and Strasburg (and they rightly went w/Strasburg IMO), you fuck up the whole strategy by having the bats force him out of the game this inning anyway.aka: Ye olde Double Whammy!
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2019 Posted August 9, 2019 Nice 2-strike hitting by Conforto and GREAT read by Rosario.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2019 Posted August 9, 2019 JD screwed on that check.

Not even a home team in the football game.Who watches news in a bar?I think the last time I watched the news in a bar was after the Reagan assassination attempt. While I was there a local TV film crew came in to interview people to see if they were there specifically to catch up on the latest. Except that no one would talk to them because most were skipping out of work in the middle of the afternoon. Myself, I wasn't there to watch the latest OR to skip out on work but I wouldn't talk to them either on account of not being real anxious to say that I had merely stopped in to collect my coat I had left there the previous evening. Don't quite remember how I wound up doing that -- especially seeing as how it was March in upstate New York -- but, y'know, it was a bar.

Looked like we were on our way to just that after the first two batters.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2019 Posted August 9, 2019 I'm still steaming over the check-swing call on Davis. And that idiot who made the call is at home tomorrow. F him.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2019 Posted August 9, 2019 Well, we got Strasburg out of there anyway.I suppose I shouldn't be shocked that he was pulled even after a quick 7th and a low-ish pitch count ... but I kinda am.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2019 Posted August 9, 2019 That leadoff walk in the 7th was a big moment. Had him at 0-2 as well. My impression after 2 starts is that Stroman is a good pitcher, who occasionally overdoes it.Top of the order here, let's get it done.
LWFS Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2019 Posted August 9, 2019 This is the time. Middle-bottom against Doolittle is an iffier proposition.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2019 Posted August 9, 2019 Nats finally got burned by their OF shift.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2019 Posted August 9, 2019 Need at least a run here Pete.We can get to Doolittle, but you don't want to have to do it down by two.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2019 Posted August 9, 2019 Fourth infield hit by the Nats tonight.
LWFS Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2019 Posted August 9, 2019 The Nats' top-of-order rallies like ours should rally.
