Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 16, 2019 Posted July 16, 2019 Oh, glub. That 2-2 pitch was a strike.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted July 16, 2019 Posted July 16, 2019 Books! That was Minnesota nice
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 16, 2019 Posted July 16, 2019 PUT IT IN THE BASKET!!Frazier did
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 16, 2019 Posted July 16, 2019 And we still have Mazza and Rhame with fresh arms for tomorrow!

Try 'in a few hours'.I was so afraid Diaz was going to walk the tying run in there. It wound up as less than the greatest closing job ever, but at least he made the Twinkie batters earn their runners.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted July 16, 2019 Posted July 16, 2019 I kinda forgive his struggle given the interupted at bat and weak grounder, bit yeah I was convinced he would walk in the tying run
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted July 17, 2019 Posted July 17, 2019 That was crazy. He didn't throw one good slider that whole inning.Pretty obvious that this was a guy who had a live, moving fastball and a wipeout slider, and now he's just left with his fastball.
Vic Sage Old-Timey Member Posted July 17, 2019 Posted July 17, 2019 (edited) i no longer watch the last inning of games, unless we're losing. If we're ahead in the 8th or 9th, and the bullpen is coming in, i change the channel. The satisfaction of seeing them complete a victory is greatly outweighed by the torture of seeing them collapse. Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 17, 2019 Posted July 17, 2019 The Mets beat a helluva good team, but how many times did the bounces go the Mets' way in this one? The Conforto dribbler for the go-ahead RBI, Canó not getting called for the drop at second (probably the right call, but it could have gone either way), the Mach-2 screamer into Alonso's glove, the Mach-2 screamer into Frazier's glov, etc. Lugo was the best I've seen him in a while, but to a large extent, the bullpen was just getting the breaks. Matz' was, too, come to think of it.The play of the game might have been Frazier fielding that infield hit in the ninth, and not making a throw. Also, that double off the wall where the throw went to second and Rosario wasn't there covering? What the hell?
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted July 17, 2019 Posted July 17, 2019 Yup to allathat. But guess what? Twins didn't play like a first-place team either and got what they deserved
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted July 17, 2019 Posted July 17, 2019 I saw the Raconteurs in Milwaukee on Sunday. I believe White is a Tigers fan, so maybe he was rooting for the Mets?
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted July 17, 2019 Posted July 17, 2019 They caught my eye early on but then disappeared, so I forgot about it.Knew they were 'someone.' haha
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 17, 2019 Posted July 17, 2019 Is that writstband saying, "This guy has been carded and is OK to drink" or "This guy was admitted to the emergency room at St. Luke's, treated for dehydration, and released"?
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted July 17, 2019 Posted July 17, 2019 New Racontuers album is... pretty good, I guess.
