bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2019 Posted June 16, 2019 Let's get Pounders a win!--said for the first time.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2019 Posted June 16, 2019 (edited) Today's "FU Awards" go to: Ramos, for the game-ending DP; Hech, for 2 errors including one that cost a run; Cano, for hitting into a DP with 1st and 3d; Flexen, for being himself; Mickey, for not giving McNeil 4 ABs; and, BVW, your daily recipient, for putting together this shit show. Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2019 Posted June 16, 2019 That GiDP seemed almost preordained. It was the third one of the game -- plus Lagares was thrown at trying (probably unnecessarily) to advance to 2nd -- meaning StL pitchers needed to retire just 23 NYM batters instead of 27. And the reversed call on Lagares's SB is the only thing that kept it from being 22.Mets, meanwhile, set up a run for the Cards by failing to turn a GiDP (E-6) and followed that by maybe turning the wrong GiDP as Frazier opted to go 2nd-to-1st instead of home-then-1st w/Molina running.Plays. Not. Made.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 16, 2019 Posted June 16, 2019 Yeah, risk abounds, and this baseball team is riskier than most, but ... not for a single inning did I think the Cards had the better team this series. I think there's some assheaded stuff going on, though.I have no FU to Flexie. It's bizarre that he was put in that situation, though.

MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2019 Posted June 16, 2019 Paul DeJong is closing in fast on Gary f'n Pendleton, Yadier f'n Molina and Larry f'n Jackson on the list of Cardinals I have really despised over the years.Later
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2019 Posted June 17, 2019 Flexen is an AAAA player. He's had plenty of chances and has never proved he's anything more than that. Next.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 17, 2019 Posted June 17, 2019 Yup. https://cdnph.upi.com/pv/upi/5c1339d1cd76626961b1d16c5fa479e7/MLB-BREWERS-CARDINALS.jpg>I think I saw it somewhere else on his person, too.Looks like MFS has fused the DNA of Garry Templeton and Terry Pendleton and created a monstrous double-Y chromosome hybrid.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2019 Posted June 17, 2019 Yadier seems like an odd choice to have been deemed worthy of the jump logo. That Jeter was 'blessed' by 'His Airness' to be worthy of it seems almost too simple. I think his use of it was confined to his wristbands.Probably his underwear too. Would have fetched a higher price that way at the season-long auction he and Steiner were conducting on his way out the door.Game-used y'know!
