Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2019 Posted June 14, 2019 So it is supposed to be a cute little story about Wilson Ramos' wife telling him that she is pregnant during the game. But check this out.https://img.mlbstatic.com/mlb-images/image/private/mlb/ocs5lf0kl7073g1yq7vh>First, what a strange way to tell your husband that you are pregnant. He's in the middle of a game, about to take an AB. He's, you know, busy?Secondly, does Wilson Ramos not know how many children he has?Thirdly, "We're Pregnant". Really?
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2019 Posted June 14, 2019 The update on the number of children is definitely the strangest part. Maybe that was a passive-aggressive statement suggesting that he's somewhat disconnected from his family life. When my wife gets home from work today, I think I may double-check with her to see how many kids we have. I can think of two of them offhand, but maybe there's a third one somewhere that I forgot about.
Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted June 14, 2019 Posted June 14, 2019 We're pregnant is somewhat common parlance. It's really just "We're having a baby" I imagine the 3rd bit is for the fans/viralness of it. And yeah, I'm not really into distracting him with this before he's about to bat.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2019 Posted June 14, 2019 What did he do in that at-bat? Gary Cooper probably would have hit a home run.

Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2019 Author Posted June 14, 2019 I mean, that being said, Yeli Ramos is super pretty. Definitely worth putting up with a little bit of weird.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 14, 2019 Posted June 14, 2019 Fun fact: Their oldest child is named "Buffalo."

Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2019 Author Posted June 14, 2019 Also, speaking of Wilson Ramos, he's quietly turned things around pretty nicely. After a terrible April, he's OPS'ed .843 in May, and 1.012 in June so far. Overall .762, a touch over his career norms.

Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2019 Posted June 14, 2019 Their oldest child, Buffalo, is a boy. The second one, Schenectady, is a girl. This one will be named Utica if it's a girl and Rochester if it's a boy.

Just speculating.
whippoorwill Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2019 Posted June 15, 2019 Yeah! And she's subtly rubbing it in!
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 16, 2019 Posted June 16, 2019 Now, see, I kind of read it as "This our third child together and I refuse to acknowledge that other one — no matter what other people, the courts, or 'science' say."Anyhow, felicidades a la familia Ramos.
