Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 10, 2019 Posted May 10, 2019 I don't know how I've missed it all these years but that riff Dave breaks into before vs. two is pinched shamelessly from "Jumpin' Jack Flash," no?
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted May 10, 2019 Author Posted May 10, 2019 Not shameless at all. There's another popular song that uses it too but I can't think of it off the top of my head. Wonder if they have to pay royalties for a few notes.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted May 10, 2019 Posted May 10, 2019 The real amazin' thing is that he gets in 3 guitar solos in that song
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted May 10, 2019 Author Posted May 10, 2019 Song's 2 minutes too long for sure.

kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted May 10, 2019 Author Posted May 10, 2019 I imagine he and Richards are good enough friends to share a few notesfrom time to time. The other song I was thinking was Money for Nothingbut that's not as note for note as I was first thinking.Where's that lineup, this is a baseball thread!

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 10, 2019 Posted May 10, 2019 So tonight it takes Mattingly one entire pitch before asking for an umpire challenge.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted May 10, 2019 Posted May 10, 2019 Mets up 8-0, still batting in the first. Jeff Wilpon for MVP.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 10, 2019 Posted May 10, 2019 Amed Rosario ties Derek Jeter for career Grand Slams (1)
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted May 10, 2019 Posted May 10, 2019 Lol Jeter with your shitty uniforms we can't even read the front of and your shitty attendance and your laughable trades.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 10, 2019 Posted May 10, 2019 I'm just getting home. Anything cool happen?

I turned the tv on I hear Kiner's voice and Roger McDowell is wearing pants on his head and jersey on his legs and the Metsare winning 9-sniffle. Wheeler doing his best not to give up a field goal or two.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 10, 2019 Posted May 10, 2019 They got a pair back off Wheeler, but that rally was more about a porous infield defense.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 10, 2019 Posted May 10, 2019 Wheels is dealin'. Most of these hits by MIA were seeing eye singles. Big lead for the good guys and a Kinks song. That's already a solid day right there.

nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted May 10, 2019 Posted May 10, 2019 its time to rest Wheeler after 96 pitches, we are going to need more of him this season. The Marlins suck and beating them is expected. Whether tonight is just another win or a GOOD win for me is now going to depend on whether the Mets can rest their overtaxed bullpen and get 9 more outs with the interchangeable AAA express guys and not using the better relievers needlessly

Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted May 10, 2019 Posted May 10, 2019 I approve of us beating the hell out of the Marlins. Gotta beat em so may as well make it decisive
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 10, 2019 Posted May 10, 2019 Congratulations, Northwell Health and the Katz Women's Institute.Surprising that Mattingly was able to get the last five innings out of two pitchers. Good for him.I don't know why he's putting up with this disgrace. I realize there are only 30 MLB managing jobs, but he should either be resigning or publicly criticizing ownership. And yeah, that blue-on-black thing is just a terrible look for the Marlins — a team that knows a thing or two about terrible looks. Their new home togs that they wore when the Mets were in Miami were smart and classic right out of the box. How could the same designers have failed so badly trying to translate those features to a road uni?
