It's pretty much brought me to camp as the #6 starting pitcher (depending on if you believe that Seth Lugo and Robert Gsellman truly are done starting), and that's not a position I intend to lose. That's the catbird seat. Not Lockett or Lee or Kilome or Flexy. Me.I'm a Cal State Dirtbag, and we've sort of positioned ourselves as the Brooklyn Dodgers of the contemporary NCAA. To know us is to root for us, so I won't make you sorry rooting for me. My mother ran track for LBS a generation before me. So I'm like a Dirtbag legacy. You know what a team's big shot pitcher is known as in the NCAA? The "Friday Night Starter." That was me at State and that's going to be me in Syracuse, if only symbolically.Mentally, I'm locked in. Because being one injury among five different guys away from joining a big league rotation is pretty cool. And I'm pretty cool. But I'm not pretty clairvoyant, so if you can, please tell me how my season is going to go.
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted March 8, 2019 Posted March 8, 2019 Syracuse, most of the year, with a few spot starts over the summer when we panic over a minor deGrom injury.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted March 8, 2019 Posted March 8, 2019 I still remember last year's thread title "gagnon me with a spoon" and it still fits.Later
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted March 8, 2019 Posted March 8, 2019 He wasn't so bad. iirc I was at his debut, which ended up an ugly loss but included some bad luck. He also drove in a run with a sac fly in that game, I remember that. Then he came back late and was mostly ok.I'm already on record as over-reaching on Lockett so I'll predict 10 games, 24 innings, 2 starts, 2 sacrifice flies, 4.44 ERA, 1 win
whippoorwill Old-Timey Member Posted March 9, 2019 Posted March 9, 2019 The worst LL baseball player i ever saw was a kid named Christian Gagnon on my sons team Please God let this man not be related
