Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted February 22, 2019 Posted February 22, 2019 Might as well revive the thread from the previous board since the winter signings are still going at this late date-- Marwin Gonzalez - 2 years w/Twins-- Washington Nationals (owner Mark Lerner): We've "moved on" from Bryce Harper
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted February 22, 2019 Posted February 22, 2019 Marwin Gonzalez was like this year's version of Josh Harrison. Maybe a little better as a hitter. Feel like his versatility made him seem like a better catch than what he was.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted February 25, 2019 Posted February 25, 2019 Long-ago Marlin nemesis (or Met nemesis as a Marlin) Hanley Ramirez has resurfaced a Wahoo Tribalist on a minor league deal.
smg58 Old-Timey Member Posted February 25, 2019 Posted February 25, 2019 And Josh Harrison himself just signed with Detroit for $2M.I'm not sure Hanley can do anything other than DH at this point, but I bet he can still hit if given the chance.
dgwphotography Old-Timey Member Posted February 28, 2019 Posted February 28, 2019 Heyman reports Harper to sign with Phillies... Ugh...
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted February 28, 2019 Posted February 28, 2019 13 years, 330M, no optouts.

MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted March 11, 2019 Posted March 11, 2019 Adam Jones $3 million with the Snakes.https://sports.yahoo.com/ap-source-adam-jones-agrees-1-deal-d-014611389--mlb.htmlhttps://sports.yahoo.com/ap-source-adam-jones-agrees-1-deal-d-014611389--mlb.htmlGrrrr. He was worth a shot.Later
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted March 11, 2019 Posted March 11, 2019 No place for Jones on the Mets. His skills have declined.Wouldn't mind picking up Keuchel on a cheapo one-year deal at this point, though.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted March 11, 2019 Posted March 11, 2019 Royals grabbed Martin Maldonado. One year, $2.5 million plus incentives.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted March 17, 2019 Posted March 17, 2019 Nats signed Tony Sipp.Carlos Gonzalez to the Tribe on a minor league deal.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted March 17, 2019 Posted March 17, 2019 Tony Sipp always seemed like such a football name to me.Carlos Gonzalez got bad quickly.
