Edgy MD Site Manager Posted February 11, 2019 Posted February 11, 2019 Do you know me? I'm a grumpy faced Venezuelan Ricky Schroeder of a southpaw signed this offseason to a minor league contract with an invite to camp. I debuted against the Mets back in 2012, coming on in a spot and whiffing Ike Davis.Since then, I've bounced from the Braves to the Dodgers to the White Sox to the Phillies at the end of last season. Mine may be a minor league deal, but I come with a C.V., baby, and if you don't think I can be your Dennis Cook, I don't know what the hell you're looking at.I mean, come on. Lefty batters have a .213 batting average against me. Up yours.https://cdn.vox-cdn.com/thumbor/fsDK2VL0Pb3a_74unBxYDwI5G2o=/0x0:3186x2220/1200x800/filters:focal(1364x221:1872x729)/cdn.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_image/image/52548891/607007534.0.jpeg>Even after all that success, I'm still expected to make the team before I get to show you what I can do. So tell me, what do you think I'm going to do?
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted February 11, 2019 Posted February 11, 2019 I'm pretty sure he'll break camp as the second lefty in the pen.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted February 11, 2019 Posted February 11, 2019 Yeah I read something to that effect [CROSSOUT]in the papers[/CROSSOUT] on Twitter. Brodie Van Bullpenwagon has a thing for him.2-2, 3.44, Lefties hit .210 off him, righties .310Will strike out Charlie Blackmon in a key spot and the Daily News headline is AVILANCH! Nobody will vote for it.
smg58 Old-Timey Member Posted February 11, 2019 Posted February 11, 2019 Not sure if he's a lock to beat out Zamora, but I do think he's the favorite.
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted February 27, 2019 Posted February 27, 2019 I pretty go along with last three comments... twist my arm.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted February 27, 2019 Posted February 27, 2019 Those comments sound good to me. Pitching in spots to spots all year at the major league level.Later
