Watching JED LOWRIE sitting next to BRODIE VAN WAGENEN answering a question about being reunited with CHILI DAVIS, it struck me how quickly Baseball Mad-Libs morphs into the team you root for.

Didn't see the presser, but I'm reading about it now. Sounds like he's saying he's content with what he has. Not in on Harper, doesn't view him as a possibility. Not focused on Philly/Washington. Focused inward.

Copouts. All of it. If this is it (and I acknowledge nothing is done yet) I hope every Met fan will see this winter as the half measure it was.

All right, maybe outright firing is a bit too harsh after such a short time on the job ... but consider him on notice against any or all future acts of dorkiness.

A full press conference for Jed Lowrie seems a bit much, or is that just me?

I don't understand this move.

We now have six infielders that can potentially start (Cano, McNeil, Frazier, Lowrie, Rosario and Alonso). We have a 7th guy in JD Davis that could potentially be pretty good.

We have two starting quality outfielders, and two shitty ones, and no one behind them.

We also have Vargas as a fifth starter and no quality lefty relievers. We have no established cleanup hitter.

I'm guessing there must be a trade of some sort coming up.

A few days after the Mets signed Lowrie, the MFYs signed DJ Le Mahiew for $2 million more per year. Lowrie had significantly better numbers than DJ in the two year prior to the signings and DJ was older than Lowrie. It looked like the Mets had gotten the better of those deals.

Funny how it worked out in 2019. (Actually, NOT funny at all)
