Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted December 4, 2018 Posted December 4, 2018 A reminder that probably the worst thing a player can do is to get hurt during spring training. I'm sure he saw what a lurch it left his mates in forced him to come back too early and assured he'd really really suck.I was always a little suspicious of his track record.
smg58 Old-Timey Member Posted December 4, 2018 Posted December 4, 2018 We never really got to see what he can do.I thought it was a perfectly good signing, but there is always a danger with workhorses out of the pen -- they tend to have rubber arms until they don't.He really could have used a month of rehabbing, but the Mets could not afford to wait at that point. He did show some flashes though. I would have been willing to give him another shot this year.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted December 4, 2018 Posted December 4, 2018 One of those pitchers who got noticeably tetchy answering post-loss questions, which means he's either a great competitor or kind of a jerk. Hard to recall he was considered something of a get. Maybe he'll rebound when he's not dealing with injuries.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted December 4, 2018 Posted December 4, 2018 I seem to recall that he looked pretty good for the first two games on the season, both played before April 1, and then he disappeared for a long time. He's not the guy who fell off the curb, but he may as well have been.
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted December 4, 2018 Posted December 4, 2018 Pitched for the Mets at some point this season, or so I'm told. I have no memory of that, even though he pitched in one of the two games I went to.
