Guest 41Forever Guests Posted November 11, 2018 Posted November 11, 2018 Some pretty great photography on the Wilmer covers!
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted November 11, 2018 Posted November 11, 2018 In retrospect, that was the week that was.Flores HR: We're bulletproof!Blown game: We're doomed.Comeback vs Nats: We're gonna be fine after all.Shortly after which, the competitive portion of the season deflated sans ceremony.
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted November 11, 2018 Posted November 11, 2018 WIL, FREEZE and CRAZY for today...
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted November 11, 2018 Posted November 11, 2018 I don't like seeing the same picture on the cover of more than one publications (and this will likely occur more often in '19 after the News cutbacks).I have a feeling that our winner might come from this round.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted November 11, 2018 Posted November 11, 2018 I shamelessly went for all three Flores covers.

Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted November 12, 2018 Posted November 12, 2018 It's funny how it came tumbling down so fast for Harvey. Those covers are from April 20.Have no memory of the Cespedes grand slam. This team is so different when he's on the field.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted November 12, 2018 Author Posted November 12, 2018 We currently have a tie in this poll, between WHERE THERE'S A WIL and MR. FREEZE.Anyone case to cast a tie-breaker?
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted November 12, 2018 Posted November 12, 2018 How many covers advance?

Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted November 12, 2018 Posted November 12, 2018 Wait. So strategically, we should only vote for our favorite, then, no?
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted November 12, 2018 Author Posted November 12, 2018 If there's one that you prefer above all others, then yes, I guess so.In the first round we vote for up to three because, with the limited number of voters that we have, I want to make ties less likely.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted November 12, 2018 Author Posted November 12, 2018 Here's a little more about how it will work:In 2015 and 2016 we had 32 first-round polls, and in 2017 we had 16. Both of these numbers fit easily into the single-elimination bracket format. This year, though, it looks like we'll have 22 first-round polls. Ten of the 22 will get a second-round bye. These will be the ten that got the highest percentage of votes in the first round. The remaining 12 covers will face off against each other, by rank. (Number 12 will compete against Number 22, 13 against 21, etc.) This will yield six winners, which, along with the ten covers that got a bye, will give us our Sweet Sixteen.
Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted November 12, 2018 Posted November 12, 2018 It's no contest, emotional Cespedes with the bat (behind the letters) in mid "flip" is everything that's great about baseball these days. NAT SO FAST

Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted November 12, 2018 Author Posted November 12, 2018 My favorite is MR. FREEZE. I love how dynamic the photo is.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted November 18, 2018 Posted November 18, 2018 Others have been touted as the "face of the franchise", but Wilmer is that face of the love we have had for the players over the years. Whenever we look back on this dismal season, if we see a picture of Wilmer, it will bring a smile to our face. I hope "Where there's a Wil" goes all the way.Later
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted November 18, 2018 Author Posted November 18, 2018 My favorite from this group was MR. FREEZE, but sadly it's been eliminated.
