G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted September 7, 2018 Posted September 7, 2018 The Mets return home from a winning road trip in quest of a winning homestand, an elusive event in 2018. They are 35-36 away from Citi Field, 28-40 within it.Tasked with facilitating the reversal of this "tsk" of a record is Steven Matz. Matz is the Mets' nominee for the Roberto Clemente Award. He will be opposed by the Phillies lineup as a whole, Aaron Nola more colloquially. Nola is the Phillies' nominee for the Cy Young Award.Do your community a favor, Steven. Make Aaron the interloper look like an also-ran.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 7, 2018 Posted September 7, 2018 The Mets' prospects may or may not be augmented by the potential presence of returning reliever Anthony Swarzak.
Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted September 7, 2018 Posted September 7, 2018 but not of their captain, for some reason.

Seems outlandish given how it'd fit into the budget just fine.Insurance trumps cheapness every time. 'Fit into budget,' lol. Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted September 7, 2018 Posted September 7, 2018 Typical Matz. Give him a lead, watch him give it right back. He's about the worst good pitcher I can remember on the Mets.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted September 8, 2018 Posted September 8, 2018 Zimmo + McNeil. That's good stuff
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2018 Posted September 8, 2018 His pitch counts are just so ridiculous. But for one pitch he'd be tossing a shutout but he's still managed to get just one out in the 5th with a pitch total that should have him in a similar spot in the 7th.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted September 8, 2018 Posted September 8, 2018 Here comes the bottom of the 9th, down 1, thanks to Matz giving up the lead and bowing out way too early forcing Mickey to use all those relieivers
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted September 8, 2018 Posted September 8, 2018 nice efficient loss.
