seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted August 29, 2018 Author Posted August 29, 2018 Cubs' 26th man will be RHP James Norwood, who will probably pitch the seventh and strike out the side or something.Mets' 26th man will be RHP Jacob Rhame, who will probably be bitten by a runaway mountain lion and miss the next 10-12 months.
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted August 29, 2018 Author Posted August 29, 2018 Todd Frazier busts out the whooping stick with a salami and it's 4-0 good guys in the top of the first!
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted August 29, 2018 Posted August 29, 2018 deGrom high-fives Frazier and then goes into the locker room to scream.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted August 29, 2018 Posted August 29, 2018 And there's another unforced error where the Mets give up an out.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 29, 2018 Posted August 29, 2018 Man, 8-1. Sheesh guys, it's like you want to make it particularly hard on deGrom.

Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 30, 2018 Posted August 30, 2018 I was at the state fair, getting crunked. I watched a good chunk of this game on the replay though.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 30, 2018 Posted August 30, 2018 I watched this game on delay and just realized that I had yet to erase it. But before I did, I forwarded it to the spot in the top of the 3rd inning spot Conforto got picked off (once replay review was employed) to end the inning. I wanted to check that play because, you may recall, Gary, and to a lesser degree, Ron, got into a discussion over the amount of time it took Madden to ask for the replay which, they said, was clearly over the allotted time. What I found:-- it was 50 seconds before the umps walked over the get the headphones on (about 55 until they were putting them on). That's 20+ seconds after the umps should have resumed play and told Madden to go screw.-- it was then another 1:25 before reaching a decision. There have been promises of time limits since the beginning of the NFL's replay system now nearly four decades ago, but the next time those are enforced will be the first time because once you align yourself with the church of "getting it right" then there's no limit to what plays can be reviewed and how long they can be studied before reaching a conclusion-- and, since that was the final play of the inning, it was another 2:25 until the first pitch of the next half-inning (should be 2:05)Time between pitches = 4:45
