Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 13, 2018 Posted August 13, 2018 A one-game series featuring Jacob deGrom pitching at The Post Office against Luis Severino. This the new Mets. A team that hits for deGrom. Todd Frazier is 3-for-6 lifetime against Sev.[fimg=600:1ppzxvfc]http://media.sny.tv/sny/2018/06/27/images/snyf_2203545783_th_13.jpg[/fimg:1ppzxvfc]That graphic is funny.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted August 13, 2018 Posted August 13, 2018 I doubt they get this one in. Which is a shame because I'd like to see the MFY's have to face deGrom. In fact, if we could, I'd love to loan deGrom out to whoever is facing the Yankees for the rest of the season.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted August 13, 2018 Posted August 13, 2018 They may wait a long time to get this game in (the Mets are in Baltimore tomorrow but we know that it's all about the MFYs who are home so a long delay doesn't hurt them as much) as the only common off-day is September 6 but the Mets are @LAD on the 5th and home on the 7th while the MFYs are @OAK on the 5th and @SEA on the 7th.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 13, 2018 Author Posted August 13, 2018 A rainy Monday rescheduled as part of a one-game series. It may be the least-poorly attended Yankees-Mets game ever despite the matchup on the marquee.

This is something if the Mets were in it I'd be kinda pissed about, flying all the way past Baltimore to sit in the rain in NY.I'd love to see MLB experiment with neutral parks for things like this. Have the Yankees hang around the Bay for the 6th and have the Mets come up from LA for a day game there. Or hell, scratch the 8/20 game against the Giants entirely. (Or push for a Tuesday day-night deal?) and play the Yankees then. Yankees are home and play Marlins on Tuesday whereas the Mets are arriving home from Williamsport.

And Judge in RF even though we all know he's done.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 13, 2018 Author Posted August 13, 2018 My guess is that it's the lineup from the game that was originally scheduled, then postponed.

bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted August 13, 2018 Posted August 13, 2018 Here are the bad guys:1. Brett Gardner (L) LF2. Giancarlo Stanton ® DH3. Didi Gregorius (L) SS4. Aaron Hicks (S) CF5. Miguel Andujar ® 3B6. Greg Bird (L) 1B7. Gleyber Torres ® 2B8. Neil Walker (S) RF9. Austin Romine ® C
Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted August 13, 2018 Posted August 13, 2018 Yankees couldn't afford depth in the offseason, are somehow forced to play Walker in the outfield, and are playing Stanton hurt rather than DLing him. #LOLMets

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 13, 2018 Author Posted August 13, 2018 It's raining beakers and test tubes here in Baltimore. Some hail, too.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 13, 2018 Author Posted August 13, 2018 If nothing else good can happen going forward this year, we can do worse than Rosario reversing course and establishing himself as the asset he mostly hasn't been.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 13, 2018 Posted August 13, 2018 Other than a few more pitches from JdG than are ideal, a very positive 1st inning.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 13, 2018 Author Posted August 13, 2018 Also notable that it's the relative neophytes who have provided the offense for the Mets, while the vets have been punchless through the first two innings.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted August 13, 2018 Posted August 13, 2018 sit down Walker, you bum.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted August 14, 2018 Posted August 14, 2018 Frazier possibly could have tagged the runner who was at 2d and he could have thrown it harder to McNeil but all the blame is going to McNeil.
HahnSolo Old-Timey Member Posted August 14, 2018 Posted August 14, 2018 McNeil gets the error but Frazier imo made a weak throw to try and start the DP
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 14, 2018 Author Posted August 14, 2018 How do Yankee fans live with that crap?
