A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted June 4, 2018 Posted June 4, 2018 Aside from Mickey saying "We suck right now" instead of "There's a lot of pressure to win here", I don't know why anyone, outside of maybe Chad Ocho Seis and his fellow Clevelanders would be bothered over this. He did it clumsily, but he's just trying to protect his players and say the fans have high expectations.
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted June 4, 2018 Posted June 4, 2018 Personally not bothered one bit. I like him. There is potential for the mouth-breathing portion of the fan base and/or the press to turn this whole thing into, well, a thing, even if there's no thing. That's why I ruh roh'd.And I ask, Mickey, do you know what a tree lawn is?

And, as someone who has spent time in both NYC and Cleveland, I can confirm that they are indeed not the same city.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted June 4, 2018 Posted June 4, 2018 It's a tough spot for Mickey.First off, no one should have to come into the expectations he had. "We don't need better players! We got a totally smart manager! Wait til you see how smart he is! You'll laugh at the idea that we needed better players!"Secondly, I think he was legitimately caught off guard by how lacking his roster would be. Now he doesn't have answers. What else is he supposed to say?
