Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2018 Posted May 16, 2018 No rule about throwing to first right? We could just walk the first guy and throw over indefinitely. Until like, Friday.
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted May 16, 2018 Posted May 16, 2018 Wheeler walks the pitcher to prolong things.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2018 Posted May 16, 2018 Stop pitching Zack. Throw to bases.Call the game!
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2018 Posted May 16, 2018 I guess it's possible Zach is intending to let the Jays bat until the game is called. Unconventional. I like it.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2018 Posted May 16, 2018 Another garbage outing by Wheeler. Maybe the Giants knew what they were doing in the Beltran trade. Wheeler would be gone on a team with depth but the Mets depth is Vargas.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2018 Posted May 16, 2018 Gsellman? Are you fucking kidding me?Gsellman and Lugo are vital pieces of our bullpen. They are so important we are keeping them out of the rotation despite being far better candidates than at least two of our current starters. Mickey has now burned Lugo in a blowout win yesterday, and is now bringing in Gsellman while losing 6-0 in the rain.

bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2018 Posted May 16, 2018 It didn't seem to bother J.A. Happ... but then again, look at the lineup he is facing.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2018 Posted May 16, 2018 It's too bad the Mets don't have a struggling starter who could use some garbage time to find himself after three horrific starts.

Is it that way every day?
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2018 Posted May 16, 2018 It's pretty common. Mickey sees it as a way to make Rosario a "second leadoff hitter."
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted May 16, 2018 Posted May 16, 2018 Mets have batted the pitcher 8th a lot this year.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2018 Posted May 16, 2018 Turns out that that old expression isn't necessarily true because Justin Smoak has never faced Mike Fiers even once in their concurrent ML careers.
Guest cooby Guests Posted May 16, 2018 Posted May 16, 2018 Top of the sixth. Now the only hope the Mets have of winning is to score more runs than the Jays.Put away your Raindance boots.
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted May 16, 2018 Posted May 16, 2018 I vote 10-run rule after seven, this afternoon.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 16, 2018 Posted May 16, 2018 It's a blowout and it's raining. Better get Lóbaton out of there. You don't want to take chances.

Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2018 Posted May 16, 2018 You know, ever since I was a kid, any time the Mets fell behind big on rainy-ish day, I would wish for the skies to open and wash out the game. I don't remember every being granted that wish. How would one look this up? I'm sure Greg knows off the top of his head.I think just once I'd like to see a 6-0 deficit get wiped out with Mets batting in the bottom of the fifth.

B-R says Smoak is 1-10 with 5 K's against Fiers.
