Maybe he can learn this, but his OJT is going crappily. There is no reason for him to be on the Mets roster after today. They made the interim step by sending him to the bullpen but he hasn't improved. He needs to go to AA (I'm afraid of what he might do in Las Vegas and I'm not talking about the altitude) and try to get his act together.Something has to happen. Clubhouse spread overturned, high-profile minors-sending, aggressive trade for Realmuto, something. What a humiliating series this has been.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted May 3, 2018 Posted May 3, 2018 So, I guess when I woke up there were four scenarios.Mets win. deGrom ok.Mets lose. deGrom ok.Mets win. deGrom badly hurt.Mets lose. deGrom badly hurt. This is the second best thing that could have happened today.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted May 3, 2018 Posted May 3, 2018 One-half a shiny Schaefer point to whoever produces a base hit.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted May 3, 2018 Posted May 3, 2018 Yes, but this team seems to suffering from hyperextended suckage.

bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted May 3, 2018 Posted May 3, 2018 Someone should check with Todd Frazier about today's umps because that must be the reason for the score.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted May 3, 2018 Posted May 3, 2018 The Braves came in trying to make a statement and they definitely did. Unfortunately, so did the Mets.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 3, 2018 Posted May 3, 2018 Insert Nimmo. Nimmo gets on base.Hey, I've got an idea!

Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted May 4, 2018 Posted May 4, 2018 It wasn't all that long ago that I was actually excited about the prospects for the Mets to be legitimate contenders this season. My optimism has been killed as the Mets have been exposed as a deeply flawed team.Only one regular (Cabrera) is hitting better than .240 on the season. The only other position players hitting (Nimmo and Lagares) can't seem to get in the line up more than once a week. The rotation is DeGrom, Syndergaard, and a collection of ineffective and/or inconsistent pitchers that can't be relied upon to just go 5 innings without giving up more runs than our anemic offense can possibly score.
Zach Thornton Syracuse Mets - AAA LHP On Sunday, the southpaw tossed five shutout innings as the bulk pitcher. He gave up 2 hits, walked 2 and had 5 strikeouts. Explore Zach Thornton News >
