A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted April 10, 2018 Posted April 10, 2018 Matt Ehalt of the Record is reporting Oswalt is getting recalled. No word yet on who is hurt/getting the boot. Discuss.[tweet:ufwv9p37] [/tweet:ufwv9p37]
A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted April 10, 2018 Author Posted April 10, 2018 Probably, right? It's easy to forget he's on the team.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted April 10, 2018 Posted April 10, 2018 It's like Sewald been the invisible guy. Maybe though they replace Robles who's been the unavoidable guy.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 10, 2018 Posted April 10, 2018 Now's the time to sign Cliff Lee out of retirement.
Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted April 10, 2018 Posted April 10, 2018 the concern is not with Wheeler but they already have to make another move. I always worry about the last guy to pitch when stuff like this breaks. Hope it's not Thor.
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted April 10, 2018 Posted April 10, 2018 Noah had that finger issue last night.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 10, 2018 Posted April 10, 2018 Well, with that .600 on-base percentage, it was only a matter of time.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted April 10, 2018 Posted April 10, 2018 Oswalt gets No. 55.Nimmo gets playing time.
A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted April 10, 2018 Author Posted April 10, 2018 For real? I hope his demotion comes with a first base mitt. This suxxx for Zimmo.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted April 10, 2018 Posted April 10, 2018 It does. But I guess this two-times-through-the-lineup thing is going to require a 13-man pitching staff.
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted April 10, 2018 Posted April 10, 2018 Surprised it's him, but I suppose getting AB's and staying sharp is betterthan him sitting around on a cold bench if that's where they think he shouldbe for the time being up here. He'll be back soon.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted April 10, 2018 Posted April 10, 2018 Some goon caller to WFAN, prefacing his comment with "this isn't gonna be popular and probably a little politically incorrect," suggests Mets have it in for those who are forthright in their Christian faith, citing Murphy not being retained almost two-and-a-half years ago and Nimmo today.Oswalt, a known Satan-worshipper, couldn't be reached for a statement.

seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted April 10, 2018 Posted April 10, 2018 I can legitimately see this being a playing-time issue. You want to get Nimmo ABs, one way or the other, and he's not getting them up here right now. And at the same time, with the starters going five innings, you're going to need as many fresh bullpen arms as you can have.As GF noted, as long as Tebow is in the organization, the "religious" argument doesn't hold water at all.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted April 10, 2018 Posted April 10, 2018 They kept Nimmo when they could have traded him for Andrew McCutchen. I think they like him fine.
smg58 Old-Timey Member Posted April 10, 2018 Posted April 10, 2018 I don't get this, but we've pulled all the right levers so far. Let's see how this pans out.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted April 10, 2018 Posted April 10, 2018 My guess: It's a hedge against Wheeler getting knocked out in the second inning.
