3-7 in early, meaningless spring training training games. But is there anything real we may have learned so far?

Things in my head:
-Harvey's velocity last game was up to mid-90's. That's real and very good news. Hopefully more of the same today.
-Cecchini looks great (new swing?). Good, but who the hell knows if this hint at some new power is real or not.
-Nimmo's had a real nice first week. Despite that shit throw home yesterday, he looks like he wants to be an everyday player. Nimmo 4 real?
-Matz looks like complete dog shit. Probably real to a degree, but he can't be that bad, can he? Can he??
-Adrián González (to me) looks ooooold and hella slow. Probably real, I think. Get healthy and get your shit together, Dom. Quickly.
-As long as deGrom is OK, I'm not too, too concerned (yet!) with any of these little injuries.

Is there anything especially encouraging or concerning for you 10 games into this spring exhibition season?

Not having been able to listen to games on XM, I can't really contribute opinions, but my biggest fear is that last year will continue. I don't have any thing to base that on except pessimism.

Concerning: Long has the the team valued on-base percentage more in word than in action. Nothing this spring — including their seeming gun-shyness about letting Nimmo be their primary centerfielder or their primary leader-offer — has told me they're maturing in this regard. They have a lot of offensive talent, but they still make too many outs and get too few baserunners, and are too reliant on multiple homers to win.

Encouraging: Nimmo is making a great case to overcome their reluctance.

Spring Training is a bit of a fucked up thing now. The regulars are just going through the motions, the wannabes stand out, and all that worries you are the below-par performances from the pitchers. It's also become something of a branding thing for MLB with the logos and the special unis and everything sort of overshadowing the idea that it ought to be preparation.

As far as the team goes, yes, too little reaching-base and and home runs providing the O. You can bet that will be the plan for the the Frazier-Bruce-Cespedes Mets. I'm still somewhat uncomfortable with how old and slow they are.

I am worrying that first base could easily become a massive black hole for this team.

I'm also a little worried that Juan Lagares 2.0 is the same old product.

Worries:

1. Harvey. Haven't heard raves that this year is "totally different". Meaning he might well be the same trash or some mediocre version of it this year.

2. Matz. Um. Yeah. I feel like our starting pitching, which is supposed to be strong, will be really disappointing again.

3. Bullpen. I feel like we'll have enough righties to get by. But we need a left hander or three.

4. First Base. AGon looks old and slow. Didn't like that he needs 2 hours of treatment every day just to get in shape. I have a feeling that not getting Logan Morrison or Duda at cheap will come back to haunt us. Smith seems kinda dumb, short for 1B, and now he's hurt.

5. Amed Rosario. Take a walk dude.

6. That we missed out on someone who will be a huge bargain. Arrieta, or Lynn, or maybe Neil Walker.

7. Super-Jack Juan Lagares hurt again.

Reasons for Optimism:

1. Nimmo. He could be really good. Already has OBP and now the power is starting to emerge. Crushes them when he gets a hold of them. Maybe Jay Bruce can solve our 1B problem after Conforto gets back.

2. Cecchini! Proving that "changed my launch angle" is the new BSOHL

3. Noah looks terrific.

4. No setbacks (knock on wood) for Conforto.

This irks the hell out of me.

Me too and I'm almost positive the ST games were on XM last year

I lost the Sirius MLB channels halfway through the summer last year. Apparently I have to get a new Sirius device to get them back.

I echo the concerns about the all-or-nothing offense.

I’ve never been too high on Matz.

Worried that the small injuries are piling up. I feel like this whole team needs to avoid injuries (especially the lingering ones) if they are to go anywhere his year.

I remain concerned that he foul ball to the face that ended his last season will undermine the courage and confidence that feed Wilmer Flores' fine work.

I have no worried in Spring Training, besides that someone may get hurt. But so far so good for the most part.

well, I guess Rosario's lingering knee pain is somewhat concerning, though it's still early.
