A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted February 27, 2018 Posted February 27, 2018 Borenstein sure getting his shots early on.
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted February 27, 2018 Posted February 27, 2018 So you just don't need to even pretend to send major leaguers on ST road trips anymore?
A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted February 27, 2018 Posted February 27, 2018 Were there ever rules on that kinda thing? These are exhibition games and I'm sure both teams wanna see what kind of players they've got.
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted February 27, 2018 Posted February 27, 2018 this is from 2-3 years ago so it may have changed: "A minimum of four players who were regulars on the previous year’s Major League team or who were platooned on the previous year’s Major League team on a regular basis, or who have a reasonable chance to be regulars on the Major League Club’s squad during the upcoming season should make road trips. Each of those regulars, excluding pitchers, must play a minimum of three complete innings."

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted February 27, 2018 Author Posted February 27, 2018 Yeah, that rule seems to be written to easy to work around. It's more of a guidance, I thinks.Hey, Borenstein just made a catch!
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted February 27, 2018 Posted February 27, 2018 Matz fails to get through 2 innings (36 pitches)... oy...
A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted February 27, 2018 Posted February 27, 2018 Update:The Mets look like shit.Swarzak must wear like 46-inch length pajama pants. Longest, sloppiest things I've ever seen. Oh, and it looks like he hurt his left hand and is leaving the game.Jay Bruce has our only base hit!6-nil Astros, top of the third.
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted February 27, 2018 Posted February 27, 2018 Patrick Biondi looks like a garden gnome.
A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted February 27, 2018 Posted February 27, 2018 Patrick Bionidi Garden Gnome day is just every day he plays. Hey, hey Mother Nature is sick of looking at the Mets, too, and unleashes a huge rainstorm! Tarp is on the field...
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted February 27, 2018 Author Posted February 27, 2018 Fun fact: Patrick Biondi is a four-year player from the University of Michigan, where he lit up the Wilpon Baseball and Softball Complex. The Wilpon family are also big supporters of UM's College of Literature, Science, and the Arts, where young Patrick spent his non-baseball time studying English Lit.
Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted February 27, 2018 Posted February 27, 2018 surprisingly the Mets have only drafted 6 of like 150 players from University of Michigan.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted February 27, 2018 Posted February 27, 2018 SNY rain delay programming reporting Mookie Wilson looked very good in 1982.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted February 27, 2018 Author Posted February 27, 2018 I'm not a big fan of the frame art in the Topps 1982 set, but that's just a terrific shot that encapsulated Mookie's style perfectly.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted February 27, 2018 Posted February 27, 2018 SNY also reporting Craig Swan's competitive fires still burned in 1982 and DiamondVision was rookie scoreboard of the year.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted February 27, 2018 Posted February 27, 2018 And we're back in the present. Chris Flexen is on...the mound, I mean.

Because the Mets sent no one the other way yesterday.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted February 27, 2018 Author Posted February 27, 2018 Brooklyn firstbaseman Jeremy Vasquez back on the field for the Mets, so you KNOW they're serious.
batmagadanleadoff Old-Timey Member Posted February 27, 2018 Posted February 27, 2018 Lol. It's one of the smartest organisations in baseball against one of the dumbest. Can you guess which is which?
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted February 27, 2018 Author Posted February 27, 2018 The brilliant Mets get one back on an RBI single by ... Jeremy Vasquez.

A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted February 27, 2018 Posted February 27, 2018 Mets crushed.Positives: The garden gnome went 3-3.Flexen looked good. So, too, did pitchers Molina and Bautista, dudes I don't know off-hand who they really are.Lets hope no one gets hurt tomorrow!
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted February 27, 2018 Posted February 27, 2018 Molina is a once top prospect held back by (you guessed it) injuries. Hey, Hahn, Evan Roberts is the only sports reporter I know of who roots for my Nets. He even has season tickets to their games. I trust himLater
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted February 27, 2018 Author Posted February 27, 2018 Those are real pitchers, man. 40-man roster guys. Guys we'll need if Matz continues to perform as he did."Working on stuff."
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted February 27, 2018 Posted February 27, 2018 Biondi is listed at 5' 7" and is a collitch boy - University of Michigan.Later
