Vic Sage Old-Timey Member Posted February 26, 2018 Posted February 26, 2018 so Flores is batting leadoff and Nimmo 6th? wtf?

Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted February 26, 2018 Posted February 26, 2018 Programming/DVR note: this game is on MLB channel. Wonder if we'll getthe Houston announcers, that would be kinda cool for a change-up.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted February 26, 2018 Author Posted February 26, 2018 Ron Darling moonlights with the MLB Channel. It'd be cool if we get Cliff Floyd. Not so much if we get Bob Costas.Once upon a time, Costas was rivaled only by Tim McCarver among the most independent and intellectual baseball broadcasters. How they both became insufferable is a story and a half.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted February 26, 2018 Posted February 26, 2018 Costas has become insufferable? I haven't heard much of him or McCarver lately to have any opinion on their insufferability, but I've certainly heard that a lot about McCarver. I don't know that I've heard it about Costas.
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted February 26, 2018 Posted February 26, 2018 Got the Astros' booth - Geoff Blum and Todd Kalas (the real todd kalas, not the fake)
A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted February 26, 2018 Posted February 26, 2018 Welp, Verlander looks ready for Opening Day.
A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted February 26, 2018 Posted February 26, 2018 Thor's first pitch to Springer clocks in at a cool 100 MPH. He's hit 100 and 101 against Redick and Altuve. I guess he's ready, too. Where the 86 Mets has those thick racing stripes running down their uni tops, the Astros have some neat-looking tequila sunrise horizontal stripes on theirs today. They look kinda cool.

That's a nice new ballpark in West Palm Beach, too. I caught a batting practice home run last year. Very spread out. Some things I didn't like -- stretching nearly the entire first base line was a high-end section with tables. The Nats are there, too. But it's easy to get to, plenty of parking and you get to wander around and watch both teams.

It seemed I had tolerated him a lot more than most.He lost a great many New York Mets fans when he mocked the team for celebrating a walkoff victory back in 2013.
A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted February 26, 2018 Posted February 26, 2018 Noah done after 2 perfect innings. Robles, sadly, appears in mid-season form, too, giving up a huge bomb on his first pitch.

A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted February 26, 2018 Posted February 26, 2018 Robles gives up 4 earned on 4 hits, including a wild pitch and a walk.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted February 26, 2018 Posted February 26, 2018 Robles is talent without execution. It's early, but he appears determined to punch a ticket to Vegas.
A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted February 26, 2018 Posted February 26, 2018 Mets broke the lumber out while I had to work. Looks like Borenstein, Zimmo, and Neat-o did the heavy lifting.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted February 26, 2018 Author Posted February 26, 2018 What kind of Spring Training name is Mike Hauschild? Shouldn't that be "Housechild" or "Hauskind"?That's sort of language mashup may fly in AAA, but it's not gonna cut it in the bigs.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted February 26, 2018 Author Posted February 26, 2018 Crazy finish here as the springtime Mets are in a 7-7 tie with the springtime version of the World Champs.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted February 26, 2018 Author Posted February 26, 2018 They battled like battle bots, but go down with the bases loaded and the Brooklyn Cyclones' first baseman at the plate.
