    Sorta kinda, but Mets fandom extends far beyond NYC and a lot of Mets fans don't know that stuff. It's still a pretty arcane name. Mets fans across the country know what Flushing and Queens are; not so much Willets Point. Not all of us live in the Five Boroughs.

    You're under no obligation to subtract, we're just trying to forge this project more to the standards of the members here, rather than trying to bring aboard the standards of the old place I ran this project. Instead of doing whole new polls and starting from scratch, we're doing the slightly easier method of removing people that AREN'T deemed worthy (by this community's standards). And, as stated, as the standards of this community vis-a-vis this project crystallize, we'll likely do "Veterans Committee" elections to give those removed (if we remove any) the chance to be reelected.

    By the way I'm not criticizing any ideas, this is how brainstorming works. Ideas are bounced off each other until the best one is proposed. It's like a Hegelian dialectic or something.

    What's Kranepool to 90% of Mets fans? Ed Kranepool was literally 60+ years ago now. If we're rebranding, we might want to update the image we're trying to project just a little bit. A lot has happened with the Mets since the 1960s and 1970s. Mets Magic, like Meet the Mets, is so basic that it's not memorable. It's easy to remember, but it's not memorable. Faith and Fear in Flushing is both easy to remember (alliterative with allusions to Metsly things) and memorable. Metropolitan Baseball is too vague. It could literally refer to a 40+ amateur city wood bat league. From Shea to Citi would be better as a book about the transitional time when the Mets were moving stadiums, otherwise its too specific and doesn't encapsulate enough (and the Mets also played at the Polo Grounds once!!). Amazin' Archive would be a good title for the archived UMDB page. Mets Grand Central is a decent take on the other name, though one likes the first option better.

    Well, we're not really an introductory website to the Mets nor are we a primer site, and Meet the Mets implies such a thing. Also, it's an insanely cliche line. It's so overused it really doesn't speak to any sort of uniqueness or brand this site might be trying to establish.

    Flushing Baseball would be good, the logo could be a baseball (or the Mets logo) being flushed down a toilet, reminiscent of how Mets fans feel about the team each year come August or September.

    I think the real Mets might have copyright or trademark or whatever issues with Meet the Mets considering that phrase is so commonly associated with the actual team. Also it doesn't really actually convey what the site is about. Mets Baseball Pool is kind of clunky, two many monosyllabic words, especially at the bookends. Pool itself is a clunky word. Use a catchier word like Haven. Mets Baseball Haven. Mets Haven. Whatever. I'm not picking on your selections specifically, so don't take offense. TBH words is what I went to college for.

    How about something that reeks of 2000s GeoCities like "Mets Mania," with a shoddy logo made in WordArt or Microsoft Paint?

    How about Supercalifragilistic METS pialidocious. Very easy to remember and type into the search bar. Or you could get into the Hub theme, Mets Hub. It would be my second favorite Hub, outside of GrubHub of course. Or think of basic things like Mets Galore, Mets Essential, the Mets Line (oh it's like a subway reference too!!), or something punny like Nice to Mets You or Glad We Mets or something. Actually the Mets Mint is alliterative and memorable. Mets Vault makes it seem like an archive of sorts, which it kind of is. Mets-Turbate is probably available, Gen Z would love it.

    Thank you for your participation. We're trying to make it more 'our' Hall of Fame; give it time. Should this forum be around in some form in 10 years and we're all still here and this project is still going, this will seem organically ours. Looking back I ran quite a few projects that ran for years.
