  1. Counts! And in the same vein I believe there may have been a shot of Strawberry playing in a game at Shea on a TV at some point in 'Bad Lieutenant' during the fictional Mets-Dodgers playoff series that was a running them throughout that movie.
  2. 'Kiss Of Death' - the remake, with Nicolas Cage and David Caruso.
  3. The Boston Red Sox apparently didn't want to sign a long-term contract with Bay because of some health concerns about Bay's shoulders holding up. But meanwhile they still offered him 4 years at $60 mil.
  4. If the Mets are willing to pay his salary, well that's coolio with me. And if a couple scoops of pistachio is all that's needed to sweeten the deal well then go for it.
  5. But don't you think if he got his 'sccop' directly from the horses mouth he would have made a bigger deal about it? Yeah - he promo'd that he'd have news but kinda just shrugged it off when he finally got around to it and went right back to football. Odd.
  6. I'm going to guess that the news is that the Mets have increased their offer to Bay.
  7. Wait a second - The guy hasn't pitched in two years and he's got a $17.5 million option that vests? $17.5? That's just a bit much, no? He's gonna be 35 by then. Tell me that you were kidding or at least that you meant to write $1.75 million player option.
  8. It was a fantastic movie. Really, freakin' fantastic. Go see it. You will not be disappointed. I don't know about making me feel emotions I've never felt before, but it was an excellent flick.
  9. What stops them from going after Bay?
  10. So if they wind up releasing him that means they have nothing to show for Francouer? This is an area in which I am sorely lacking. Its a given that major league front offices are far more adept at judging talent than I am, but has Ryan Church's (and Francouer's too for that matter) star fallen so far that releasing the guy is 'okay'? The guy seems to have the talent to be a starting outfielder in the majors. He's only 30. Why just give up on him like that? What do they see that I just don't?
  11. I think Jeff Kent announced his retirement.
  12. So he's going to be 33 in the first year of whatever deal he signs with a team. Gotta figure he'll get the 7 year-deal that seems to be the norm for this type of player, so the deal will take him through to age 39. That's a tough call for a GM.
  13. metirish wrote: Reports have Halladay wanting to be traded before Spring Training , if not then he will invoke his "no trade" clause and that's that. I may have misheard it, but on ESPN this morning I thought they said that Halladay would waive the no-trade only if he were traded to the Yankees. Seriously. Is that not the case?
  14. I saw it too. Very good. Clooney's great and so is Jason Schwartzman who voices Clooney's son Ash.
  15. Its very simple. Bam. Done. As to black unis selling well - I see plenty of yellow and green Yankee hats flying around everywhere but last I knew the Yankees didn't wear those in games.
  16. Black drop shadow included. Ugh.
  17. Johnson, Matlack, Piazza, Valentine.
  18. Cashen, Johnson, Orosco, Stearns.
