  1. 17 I don't think so, but maybe you've hit on something with 8. Carter's in the HOF now so its definitly plausible. That'd be cool.
  2. ="Edgy DC"]Banned for Life: Scott Harper, 19, of Armonk, N.Y., who jumped from the upper deck at Yankee Stadium onto the netting behind home plate during a game last year, has been banned for life from the ballpark and could be sent to jail, a judge said. His criminal sentence, to be handed down Sept. 19, will depend on the outcome of another case in Westchester County for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. I read that he rejected a plea bargain of probation and restitution to the Yankees. Smart move dumbass.
  3. I was at that Mets-Reds '62 throwback game. I didn't realize it was a throwback game until I got there. It was very cool, both teams had vintage unis on. The Mets unis were actually an off-white, almost yellow but they looked great. I remember that either Jay Payton or Robin Ventura slid and got a huge tear on the back of his pants. The old unis are definitly cooler but perhaps not nearly as durable. And P.S. - several hundred dollars for a baseball jersey IS overcharging.

I see that gaping hole in the skyline from 2 blocks away for at least 5 seconds everyday and I always think about that day for those 5 seconds when I do. Thinking about it for 2 hours is not an appealing thing to me. I wish the ads and commercials weren't EVERYWHERE I look these days either
  6. I also wouldn't assume that we've gotten the whole story. HoJo: Friggin' Mets wouldn't give me the day off to watch my son's ball game? Screw them, I'm goin'! Mets: You're fired. Somehow I'm thinking this is not exactly how it played out.
  7. ="Willets Point"]Memorable, for bad reasons, is the Beltran-Cameron collision in San Diego on Aug. 11, 2005. Video of same
  8. I was on a call so I was listening with one ear but it seems like LoDuca denied the gambling debts saying that he has a legal betting account and likes to go to the track. He does not owe anybody any money from gambling. I don't think he was asked about nor addressed the infidelity issues and said that his wife and he get along very well they speak frequently and unfortunately their relationship just didn't work out. Ho-hum.
  9. Stupid. That's a big assumption saying that the team would institute a moratorium on signing anybody else once A-Rod was in the fold. He's also assuming that A-Rod would not have made this team successful. A-Rod would have of course played SS. Wright at 3rd and Reyes at second. Matsui never would have signed. 5 years from now Matthews will write an article chastising Minaya for trading future Hall-of-Famers Jorge Julio and Jeff Keppinger conveniently forgetting how succesful a season the Mets had in '06.
  10. I can't get on The Posts's website today for some reason - Sonia was quoted as saying that they wanted her to come on the radio today but that Paul said no. Paul will be on with Badabenigno later though. Should be scintillating.
  11. I was always partial to army/viche sois in the canteen version as opppsed to the 'Blinky' Madison / speakeasy version.
  12. Johnny Dickshot wrote: That request came from his wife. Deep down he knew she was right, but he also knew that someday he would return to her. With nowhere else to go he appeared at the home of his childhood friend Oscar Madison. Several years earlier Madison's wife and thrown him out requesting that he. Never. Return. Can two divorced men share an apartment without driving each other crazy?
  13. Vic Sage wrote: oh, and if there are naked pictures out there, please provide a link! Mrs. Piazza Mrs. LoDuca Mrs. Benson
  14. That's what Badabing said - BOTH of them, tomorrow, joint statement.
  15. old original jb wrote: On November 13th...... Felix Unger was asked to remove himself from his place of residence...
  16. Well done Mr. Dickshot, well done.
  17. LoDuca and hot wife scheduled to come on WFAN tomorrow and make a joint statement. Why?
  18. If Piazza and Benson were still on the team along with LoDuca, you could have a nice start on a 'Naked Wifey Watch' thread.
  19. I was at Shea when Rose came into town in the midst of his streak in JUly '78. Saw Zachry give up a coupla hits to extend the streak to 37 which I believe either tied or broke Tommy Holmes NL record. If I remember it right. Pat kicked the dugout step or something out of frustration, broke his toe and was DL'd. Later that year or early next when the Phils came in there was a give-away of a glossy 8x10 of Zachry giving up Rose's record breaker. I'm sure Zachry was thrilled about that.
  20. What's he doing exactly - trading about $10,000,000.00 for insurance against an injury / significant decline in performance and still coming away with enough money so that his great grandchildren will want for nothing? Doesn't sound like such a bad deal to me.
  21. Ah. Thank you.
  22. Alomar I believe.
  23. Number 44 at Syracuse University is one of the most fabled numbers ever associated with a college football program. Since 1954, nine players have worn the number and three earned All-American honors. Those three--Jim Brown, Ernie Davis and Floyd Little--rank among the finest running backs ever to play the college game. Ernie Davis is the only Syracuse player to win the Heisman Trophy as the nation's most outstanding college football player. Jim Brown, Ernie Davis, Floyd Little The number was retired in 2005. The Syracuse University zip code was changed sometime in the '90's from 13210 to 13244. Derrick Coleman, the All-American basketball forward also wore #44 during his undergraduate years at Syracuse. Center Rony Seikaly (pictured, far left) and forward Derrick Coleman (#44) were key components to Syracuse's run to the NCAA title game in 1987.
