  1. There is also evidence that many people come and watch them. Talk about science fiction! Thank you, I'll be here all week.
  2. John Cougar Lunchbucket wrote: they play those at the park sometimes. Never seen 'em. Granted I haven't been there since August.
  3. Here's another one.
  4. You guys seen this...?
  5. So R.A. Is ahead of C.K. in Ws & Ks. The Dickmeister has one more start left and I'm guessing Kershaw is done. I would think that if R.A. throws a nice game in his last start and gets the win, he ices it.
  6. Vegas? That's just stupid.

  8. A simple Google search shows quite a few companies that specialize in large tree relocation. Dig it up and move to the other side of the yard. Geez.
  9. Wow, long drive.
  10. I apologize then, I certainly did not mean to insult any of you for not recognizing it. I'm not an autograph guy per se either but....its Seaver. Between him and Johnny Bench, those have got to be two of the most recognizable autographs out there. I guess since I was a kid I've been looking at Seaver & Bench autographs so it's just second nature to me. Seaver was THE man on my favorite team and Bench I just loved for whatever reason. Now that I look at them side by side, they are quite similar aren't they?
  11. C'mon you guys are kidding right? There's absolutely no doubt that's Seaver.
  12. I thought Maris was from South Dakota.
  13. I'd also think that any Met fan worth his salt could recognize a Seaver sig pretty damn quickly.

Kinda like when I ran for president of my fraternity and lost. They gave me 'Chaplain' as a consolation. Kinda weird for a Jewish boy, but it was cool. And I apologize for my limited participation this season. I'll try harder.

I seem to remember the AAA team being called the Phoenix Firebirds. Yeah - as in 'Rattlesnakes'. I don't know that it has any historical significance but at least the name sounds cool and fits the region. And since they want to be associated with snakes, Rattlers or Rattlesnakes is waaaay better than D'Backs or Diamondbacks. Firebirds goes with 'Phoenix' of course but I'm partial local wildlife I guess.
  18. I picked Portland and Charlotte because I guess those two are probably the most realistic locations. I would LOVE to see Havana and Mexico City though... Benjamin Grimm wrote: I would want a Portland team to be called the "Beavers" but I don't think MLB has enough guts to let that happen. Yup. Just like the Rockies should have been the Denver Bears and the D'Bags should have been the Phoenix Rattlers. the Portland team would probably be called the Portland Rain or the Portland Mist or some other ridiculous, dumbass name. And let me give some overdue kudos to MLB for FINALLY getting it right and renaming the National League team in South Florida, the 'Miami' Marlins. Yes, I know that it was a condition of the city funding the stadium but still - good job acquiescing.
  19. Kinsler gave him that.
  20. Um, wasn't R.A. Supposed to pitch the 5th? Because he ain't and the guy warming up in the 'pen ain't him either.
  21. TransMonk wrote: What in the hell is that black Mets patch doing on these jerseys? Yeah really. Didn't MLB get the memo? That's quite the faux pas.
  22. MLB wants the game to 'count', yet the roster is decided by fans. As a result the 'best' players available don't necessarily start the game. This year a National League fan would root for the NL to win for home field advantage in the WS. The fans vote and Pablo Sandoval starts instead of David Wright. So the best third baseman in the league this year - who is more likely to drive in a run/get a big hit than Sandoval - maybe loses an at-bat or two. Could be the difference in the game. How is that fair or makes sense? One or the other - either the fans vote OR the game counts, because those two things do not mesh.
