Let a pitcher go the distance. Kershaw throws a 1 hit shutout and retires last 19 in a row throwing just 104 pitches. This guy is not fucking around. Between him and Greinke our boys are not going to have it easy against the Doyers.
  2. Regrarding Breuer - you guys are being too sensitive. If he doesn't represent you, he doesn't represent you. He doesn't necessarily represent me either but I think most (some?) of his stuff is funny. Can I guess that its more the 'bandwagon' thing that's bothering you more than just Breuer and his vids?

  4. I was listening to the game while in my hammock (yes, that is pretty much where I live these days) and I TURNED IT OFF with 2 outs in the ninth. A friend texted me 'LOL!!', I texted back 'what?' And he told me Murphy tied it. I listened to the rest of it but DAMN this team! When is it safe to turn the friggin' game off??!!
  5. I keep saying it - AMAZING!!!
  6. There are no words for this team!!!

  8. Whenever there is an Armando thread I wait gleefully for Centerfield to comment.
  9. I've been thinking about Yoenis and marveling about what he's done as well. At this point - and I'll assume he just keeps it going - how do you not sign him? Meanwhile his price is going up everyday. Lets say he continues to carry the team a through the end of the season and through the post season. Would there be a grumbling from the fan base should the Mets not make a genuine effort? And will they not make a genuine effort? And if he does go, how do they replace him? There's plenty of time to worry about that, in the meantime I'll just keep enjoying this monster. And if you didn't realize it - Yoenis is definitely out of the cage.
  10. Saw a poster ad just yesterday that said October 7.
  11. Read the book, loved it. Can't wait.
  12. Ugly or not, my feeling is that Harvey is not going to be a long term Met so I'm not going to get my panties in a twist about it. I love Harv but he just doesn't strike me as the type to be happy in Queens. He's a money guy. Boras will, as Boras does, encourage him toward the biggest contract and we all know that it won't be the one the Mets are offering. He'll wind up in Anaheim or Texas.
  13. I was at the Doug Flynn game. Since he was my fave Met it was super cool. Capping off the 10-run inning and what not. I may be conflating (proper usage?) two different games and two different Flynn hits but I'm pretty sure that Flynn's inside-the-Parker came on a fireworks night and after he scored there was a 'LETS GO METS' sign in the outfield that had been made out of fireworks and it was set off. Or did I dream that?
  14. I just hope that the 2015 Mets are as aware of '7 up with 17 to play' as we are.

  16. Hot Damn! This team is something else!

  18. I've been looking for a thread to jump back in here for a while now but really haven't found one where any comment I make hadn't already been made and/or ridiculed, so I just figured I'd start my own. Happy to see the Boys doing well, fun to be a Mets fan again. I was totally out in the hinterlands for a while there. Stopped watching games entirely last year. All I ever wanted was a competitive team and I felt like as a fan, ownership wasn't doing their part. But now I'm digging the Neo-Generation K staff. The CarGo-Flores-Cespedes fiasco was great drama and what do you know? The Mets came out on the right side of one of those for once. Hope you don't give me too much shit for the long absence, I'd like to hang with you guys again.
  19. My point in starting the thread was mostly sarcasm but its always nice when someone in the mainstream media starts to see and believe what you think you see as well. Also that 'Mike Zaun 1776' is brilliant. He shoulda fallen asleep though.
  20. That your New York Mets will be a force to be reckoned with next year, the year after at the latest.
  21. Well ya know - she's more of a fan of boys than sports. Gotta give her credit for trying though.
  22. Text message string between my neice and I:
  23. Wait - he's not having the TJ surgery...? Oy.
